Would you be able to point me in the right direction how to do this? Dealership or something I could do on my own?

That is an excellent tip.

My understanding is that Ford owners from across the internet are now reading this thread. Ranger owners in Australia, Focus owners in Russia, Kuga owners in the UK, are linking this in other forums. This subject is quickly growing outside of my knowledge base. I feel limited to helping Ford owners in North America. But if someone else somewhere in the world finds this thread helpful than so be it.

Sync Connect was only introduced in F150s beginning in 2017. Judging from the grille on your truck in your screenshot I assume that is a 302a XLT. Which means Sync 3 is standard. The reason why your Ford pass app is showing millage and fuel capacity could be because:

- The Ford Pass App is pulling data off the APIM when app link is in use.

- The Ford pass app received stats based on your last dealer visit.

- Your truck might have a ford fleet telematics unit installed.

Whatever the case is, because you drive a 2016 F150, there is no cheaters path forward. If you want Sync Connect your only option will be to follow through the thread and do what everyone else has.

Default Gateway module Depinning

Im trying to depin the 4 wires from the gateway connector but I am having trouble getting them to depin. I’ve unplugged the gateway module so it is hanging now, and I removed the clearish cover/tab that’s on the mating side. But still can’t seem to figure out how to remove the 4 wires to depin properly. Can anyone chime in and assist? This is the last part to connect my sync harness and test port so I can finally start the forscan process. I travel for work so I’m heading to Nevada tomorrow, and trying to at least finish the wiring portion of this mod this evening while it’s all disassembled and before I leave to Nevada for work for a few weeks. Any advice would be greatly appreciated everyone!

hard to see, but you must push the terminal lock from the front end of connector.
I know it’s easy if the connector looks like mine 😅

Since this will be my first foray into even using Foracan this is intimidating to me. So let me ask. I have a ‘19 XL. I have the harness. I also have a black puck/box on top of my cab. I think from what I’ve read I still need to buy 2 (?) Bingfu antennas. So if I give my VIN to this fella, Jason at FLVPmods, and get him to send me a pre-programmed TCU then all is need to do is plug it and the antennas in and edit some things in ForScan? Does that sound about right?
