I have had SYNC Connect for a long time and never used schedule starts but saw it at some point. I checked and its not there. I know they were having issues with it not working on certain vehicles so perhaps they have just decided to remove it. You would have to take a poll and see if others have it or not.

For instance...the WiFi Hotspot menu for SYNC Connect on the Fordpass APP. It will show for all 18 and newer vehicles that have SYNC Connect but yet for vehicles that I know of that are earlier than that, it won't show up even though a WiFi hotspot capable modem was added. This is just a educated guess. It could be VIN or year/model related? Or I could be completely wrong.

Following up a little bit on what I said above...I am waiting for the day when the app completely locks a bunch of users out of SYNC Connect functions for those that added it. It would be so easy for them to kill anything 16 and earlier and then if they wanted to do really dig they could just eliminate app control for those vehicles that didn't come with it from the factory. Really it wouldn't be that difficult for them to do. I am surprised they haven't done it already.

Could be the difference of a legit SYNC Connect versus one that is not. Or it could be tied to the year and model rather than the specific vehicle.

1) It probably wouldn't be "that" easy for them to do. Obviously they set it up they way that they did for a reason. Maybe it is easier to have the TCU on equipped vehicles contact Ford and say "hey this VIN has a TCU" like they do now, vs Ford maintaining a database of only the VINs that were sold with TCUs and locking the rest out. They also have that OBD2 device that will add Sync Connect features to a car that wasn't sold with it. This wouldn't be possible if it was VIN restricted. "Sync Connect" didn't just start in 2016 either. "Energi" Fords have had their own version of the system since 2013 which allows owners to remote start/check their fuel/charge level/locate their car/etc. This is why MyFord Touch is compatible even though Ford Pass was introduced with Sync 3.
2) People thought the same thing with Forscan and Sync 3 conversions yet Ford hasn't encrypted their cars to block Forscan and they haven't restricted over the air updates to Sync 3 systems that were put in cars that weren't sold with it.
3) The fact that modules are so interchangeable on these vehicles is a testament to Ford not wanting to restrict people. Take just about any module you want and all you have to do is hook it up to the relevant CAN bus system, give it power and ground, and it will work with your car that didn't come with it. I'm sure it would be easy for Ford to lock the BCM to any new modules but they don't. Ford also pretty much invented replaceable parts and they have always kept things accessible for owners and independent shops to work on which they've done for 100 years.

I have a 2014 Fusion with a 2018 TCU and I got the Wifi menu after 24 hours.
Couple things here.

As for locking out people via the app, any descent app programmer could do it.
Regarding Forscan...reverse engineered IDS (violation of Ford/Bosch copyright/IP laws). As for why Ford hasn't done anything about it...simple, its Russian based. If someone in the US or Canada had made that software, Ford would be all over them with lawsuits.
As for your particular vehicle it almost sounds like the SYNC system got updated within OASIS itself allowing wireless updates. The only time I have heard of this was with base SYNC unit upgrades to SYNC3, not SYNC2 to SYNC3. If yours did this it is an oddball. Makes me wonder if yours would show the SYNC Connect modem in OASIS as well.

I'm going to try to set this up in my 2017 xlt 302a. I have ordered a module off of ebay and it's on the way. Can anyone tell me what else I need to purchase? The wiring harnesses have gotten me confused.

I've been building harnesses for many years for the military and can offer the following guidance with respect to color of wire, heat shrink etc. They simply follow the resistor color code
0 Black 1 Brown 2 Red 3 Orange 4 Yellow 5 Green 6 Blue 7 Violet 8 Gray 9 White
If a wire has a dominate color and a trace, the overall if first number and the trace is the second, third..
Ex Black with white stripe is 09 Green with yelo is 54 white/black/brown is 901
FWIW
