Ive done a pile of reading, looking for and acquiring parts, and am finally ready to give this a shot....hopefully I'm lucky enuff to get this to work. Running Sync 3(3.4) and have these parts....
A few questions....Do I install this stuff before making the forscan changes?
Can I "install" out in the open of the cab to see if its going to work for me? I read the bolt for antenna mount is the ground, so it probably wont operate in the "open"..
NON OEM remtoe start so I need to do the forscan changes for Sync3--(BCM, ICP)
If it doesnt work as is I will need to copy TCU data, or do I have to do that initially as well?
I dont have the antenna for the diversity port...should I get one?
Dont plan on activating the hotspot...will I get errors in the truck or just forscan if I dont activate the line in the APIM?

I get an open ant 2 dtc, no light, and it doesn't bother me.
I don't hotspot.
about the non OEM remote start,
that may have been an issue in another thread, which I'll try to find and post a link,
or,
somewhere deep back in this thread, I think it is suggested that remote start lives in most of these trucks, and it is a matter of enabling it,
you can search back, way back, half way back , , , in this thread.
there is a sequence to initialize the tcu after the other forscan changes,
the tcu needs to be set back to "factory", or "provisioning", then back to "wait for authorize", before trying to join up with the app,
get it all installed and then it's in that first post or couple of pages, or come back with questions.
what year truck ?

I think some folks have been able to just add the parts, and then connect the app to the truck, without forscanning the tcu,
but there will be forscanning elsewhere that does need to happen,
read that first post again, then again,
then read those first couple pages,
it explains it pretty well.

I am running without that diversity antennae/port also,

So I am jumping into the no longer working group. Both my 17 and my dads 16 stopped with the update but my grandmas 20 edge still shows up as activated for start and lock/unlock. Also the edge has had scheduled start the hole time but mine and my dads lost that back in April. I’m not even able to get mine to pop up for auth in the truck. Pressing the activate button does nothing for me not even the pop up that used to show up when I would activate it before. I did manage to get my tux to wait for auth status to see if that would change it as it has been shoo]wing authorized this hole time and still controlled from my iPad before it randomly auto updated this morning. Even trying to remove my truck isn’t working for me right now.
Anyone knows what’s going on? Has Ford finally caught on to us ? 😢😢😢

Has anyone here who's done this mod installed it into a Ford without factory remote start? My goal is to see if Sync Connect can be used to remote start a vehicle which shipped without remote start. I assume it should be possible (after some IPC value editing with ForScan). Unfortunately I won't be able to test this until the first week of September.
Ford's remote start kit is just an antenna module and new FOB's. I'm pretty sure the BCM contains the actual remote start logic and Sync Connect just talks to it.
A $60 TCU + ForScan DYI is far better than a remote start kit, install fees and dealer FOB programming.

I was reading back through the thread. My el cheapo XL if you can call it that did not come with factory remote start, I did add the Ford remote with the extra fobs and made whatever bit changes that needed to be done. Sync Connect does remote start and stop the truck.

I have added the Sync Connect to my 2014 Fusion which was not factory equipped with remote start and can now utilize all the functions of FordPass including Start, lock, unlock, etc. However, yesterday my FordPass seems to have lost the activation to my car.
