FYI. There’s a Ford Pass update this morning. Version 3.17.1 I have no idea what’s different. I’ve never seen an incremental revision number like this before so I’m not expecting a fix.

I guess I jumped the gun a bit here, having only read the first 100 pages.
Ordered a 2017 Escape TCU (I-CAN, no gateway module) for my 2016 Flex (I-CAN, no gateway module) before determining my Flex is the incompatible CGEA 1.2.
Someone had mentioned bench-testing but didn't state if their module was pulled from an I-CAN or HS3-CAN vehicle.
I've dabbled with intercepting/interpreting CAN-BUS messages elsewhere. Pressing 'Eject' will activate my heated seats/steering wheel, pressing Shift+ will send a fake Reverse message to display an aftermarket front camera, etc. I wonder if I could get some amount of functionality by detecting the TCU's attempts to remote start.
I already have a second Arduino connected to a spare keyfob, paired to a cell phone. If I text "Start", the Arduino will press [LOCK][START][START] on the keyfob. I was hoping Sync Connect would be more reliable than my current method but the more I read on here, it sure seems like Sync Connect's servers go down a lot.
If it helps you for this, or really anything, I have a dbc that will work for pretty much any ford.
Thanks, I saw the requirement of HS3 after I got the module to play around with. I know enough people with fords that I could put it in something else. Still would be cool if there was a way to retro this in past gen vehicles by including a gateway module or something along with it.

Any updates after 3.12 are ****. I wish they would restore it and left it be. These developers dont know what they are doing and are just ruining it. Dont fix something that ain't broken #3.12 version.
Guys, hey.
Tell me how to disable 4G support on the Ks7t-14g229-ah TCU with JX-CK or JL-CR? leaving only 3G ...
I can't help you with the disable,
but, I am wondering why you care to disable?
and here's why I care,
I am sure I heard something on the NY radio news about Bell Mobile, or whatever cell service, planning to cancel 3G, to free up network space for 5G,
and I am wondering what G my tcu is running on?
or how I determine this?

I'll try and search for the 3G network news story
yes, you are quite right.
I write to att forum and that's the answer I get: Not sure why you want to do that since the 3G network is being shut down but that is not possible...
So, I cannot do this using the operator. But also I cannot downgrade the calibrations to such a low level, so that only 3G is supported (2015-2016 fusuin hybrid, f.e.).
As for the answer to the question why I want to do this, I will say that I am not in America But in Europe and there are completely different frequencies of cellular operators here. There are no suppor such LTE bands as 17, 4, 2, 5. But all 3g bands are supporting. So, in order for the modem to start, it can only work in the 3G network. I believe)
Unfortunately, the modem does not switch between the 4G network to 3G and does not catch the network.
this is my opinion.
You can probably just lookup the FCC ID on the TCU to find out which cellular bands it supports.
I’m not sure the option can be toggled in as built. I thought Ford Pass remote access features are all 3G and hotspot is LTE up until late 2020 assemblies but I could be wrong.
If Bell drops 3G support it probably won’t be for a few years and at that point I’ll probably just swap for a newer tcu or truck.
I should also mention Canada doesn’t have 5G yet. Our Federal telecom watchdog (CRTC) hasn’t approved 5G use until mid 2022, so you have a while. Everything ‘5G’ in Canada is blatant false advertising aka LTE+.
It will be a fun day for Ford Pass customer service reps when 3G services end though. I can imagine it will impact all 2017 to 2020 F150 owners at least.
TCU’s found in the 2021 F150 might all be LTE based on a chart Ford Pass reps emailed to me which shows they have 5 different cellular TCU types active in North America. It’s interesting that the Bronco and Baby Bronco have different TCU’s according to their list. But that’s just automotive manufacturing part binning 101.
