The hotspot menu item requires updated APIM firmware and Sync 3.4 IIRC. What version of Sync 3 do you have installed? If you have an early year build 2018, the APIM probably needs the firmware update, which is NOT the Sync update to 3.4, they are two totally separate things. After the firmware update, then it needs to be updated to Sync 3.4.
Ok Got some Information today, Here are my systems numbers!

Awesome, so you are good on the Sync side. You just need to do the firmware update on the APIM and you’ll be good. Did you double check your Forscan edits to the APIM (specifically the one for hotspot enabled) to be sure you have it correct, before you attempt a firmware update?

thanks, I just found and downloaded the 2.4.3 forscan I will hook this up and see what version firmware is on before I do anything.

I will also double check the settings. However, I do have an Ford Sync Icon that appeared and inside that is the hotspot settings. I can create my network and add passwords. and even Connect to it. My connected devices are listed as well. . But it want actually pass internet through the hotspot. In the Wi Fi section, Its not showing any 4g lite type connections. I can connect to my home wifi, but it will not pass internet through the hotspot either. When i am in the Hotspot section and turned on, Im seeing a LTE and Strength bars on the upper right of the sync screen.
As stated earlier I was able to setup the free trial, and according to ATT its active. I should be seeing something. If its not my AIPM firmware is outdated.
I think Im close to getting this. lol
Thanks for the help

UPDATED:

So I used Forscan to see what version My APIM is at and this is the information!

Part Number: JS7T-14G371-KED To Program--- Available or Custom
Calibration Level: JS7T-14G371-KED to: JS7T-14G371-KHE there is a long list of different versions listed in the drop down box
Hardware number : HS7T-14G380-BB To - unchangeable
Strategy: HB5T-14G374-CA

So Im assuming that the Calibration Level is the firmware update, seeing that really the only option that I can select. So DO I just go with the highest update? Feedback welcomed before I do this. LOL

Thanks everyone.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I have checked VIN config in all modules, everything is fine.

would you please post your as built for the TCU? I have had a TCU in my 14 Fusion and all my buttons are gone, Remote features non existent.

If the menu items show up, your APIM firmware is fine. When you say you want it to pass traffic, what are you referring to? Can you hook a laptop up to the hotspot and say, access Google?

Or you can hook the laptop up to the hotspot, but webpages don’t load? If that’s the case, you would want to check with ATT as the TCU isn’t working correctly on the cell network.

I can hook the laptop to the hotspot but it will not load google. Says not internet.

When I connect a laptop it goes to Att but gives an error “ unfortunately there was an error processing your request, please try again later. “

I would say the TCU is not authenticated to ATTs network correctly, I would give them a call. Did you use the donor VIN of the TCU or your own when you signed up? I’m fairly certain you need to use the donor VIN.

I suppose it’s also worth asking - are you sure you have a good ATT signal where you’re testing? I would assume so since you said all the app functions work fine, but doesn’t hurt to double check.

So called Att, they reset the modem, still want pass internet. They have sent it to level 2 support. 24-72 hr call back.

So I'm thinking 2 things.
1. Apim firmware is to old for the Sync 3.4 latest build.

So either downgrade sync
Or update firmware

Or I've.got a wrong setting in the TCU

I am not showing any 4g lte networks under the wifi but am showing lte and bars under the hotspot section.

Also my wifi and hotspot are not under the same tab. They are separate tabs. A wifi tab and a Ford Sync tab that has wifi.

So, I can see wifi networks but no 4g lte networks. I can set up hotspot and connect with laptop. It shows my laptop connected. But cannot surf internet. Gives a no internet error on laptop.

Any ideas? I believe I'm really close to getting this.

Thanks Everyone
