So here is where I am at...for what it is worth. I was able to purchase the TCU locally from another user who already added it to his F150, and it was working. He provided me with the TCU, harness from BBG, and all of the necessary antennas and cables. Install was smooth, until I found out the BGG harness was only for the Sony sub in the back. @TXFRDOwner to the rescue! He saved me a ton of time and made me a harness that went all the way up to the Gateway Module behind the OBDII port, shipped the day after I paid him. I was able to get my truck to this point....I have the AT& T hotspot working! As with others, I am struggling with the activation in the FordPass app to get the Connect features working. Here is where I stand:
1. The TCU clearly "phoned home", because I get the option to activate my truck in the app. However, I keep getting the following message when I tap on it:
When I look in Forscan at the PIDs, here is how the TCU is showing up:
Here is the TCU data I am using:
I tried the sequence @VTPLM above, and did the APIM reset from the touch screen. I used the 754-01-01 xx00 xxxx xxxx instead of the above because my configuration was different. Would there be a different way to put it in factory mode with this configuration type? Still getting the same error as above after removing and adding. My impression is a lot of users are not seeing the activate button to begin with, but not sure if this is a common issue, too. I am excited to have the hotspot working for my radar detector and other devices, but would love to get the app working, too!
Here are the details about my setup. Going to try the android with an old apk, but if anyone sees anything obvious with my versions, let me know. TCU

An older app version on android should do the trick, just be sure to ignore all of the promos to update. It’s annoying but it is possible to get all the way through the process!

I went out to start the truck, and got the prompt on the screen. Still pending activation, but I am going to be patient and drive it around some tomorrow.

if you got the prompt in the truck, if I were you, I’d delete the app off my iPhone and then reinstall it. Sign in and see if it’s connected.
Haha first part arrived today... waiting on other stuff...good thing about this I have more patience than some of the frustrations Iv seen in some of these threads, yet very thankful for the resources found here to even try doing this! I waited till I bought this platty to try it on!
Still shows the "Activate Vehicle" button on the iOS app, even after deleting and rebooting the phone. Will keep an eye on it.
I believe I used 2.19 and someone else has been successful with 2.20…will you be around a family member with an android over the holiday weekend? It’s hard to say if it actually worked or not though, patients is definitely key part of this process. I will say however all of my activations went through immediately.
5 or 6 days for me from this screen on my 16'. Used Alexa app in the meantime and then the fordpass app started working.
It maybe is all pure luck. Using the blue stacks method it just worked for me. Got it activated. Then installed app on iPhone. Signed in and all was working.
