Saying hello, new to the forum here. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion. Thank you for this write up, it’s helped fill in the gaps of how to add this to my vehicle. Don’t have an F-150 but all the same applies. I have a 2019 APIM with Sync 3.3 and 2018 maps. Changed out my gateway module to a newer model year so to get rid of the behind the dashboard gps antenna to use the roof antenna. Lastly I’m adding the Sync Connect system, found a modem from a wrecked 2019 F-150 with under 5k miles. I found ordering the Fakra extension cables and splitter was cheaper through the dealership ironically and the correct length for my application.

So here’s my situation. I recently order an 2019 f-250 xlt with sync 3. Stupidly, I did not have the modem put in with the truck and now I’m left yearning for ford pass. The truck has remote start equipped on it and can connect to my home WiFi network. My question is - will this retrofit work on my vehicle ? What steps will I need to follow? Any help is greatly appreciated. ( I don’t care about the hotspot feature- just the vehicle controls through the app )

thanks to anyone who can assist.
The retrofit can be done to any ford vehicle with MFT or Sync 3, it’s just a matter of hardware, modules, wiring, programming and money. The write up on here is excellent and should pretty much give you all the info you need to do this. They’ve even listed part numbers for all the components.

thanks. I figured as much. Just wanted to verify. Guess I’ll get cracking. Will update when the job is complete 😎
Any idea if there is/was supposed to be anything in this compartment? Received my TCU just now. Will be installing it before putting interior back together. I understand the PIFA antenna and where it gets mounted as well as the coaxial cable that runs from this ant to the TCU but can anyone clarify where/what plugs into the other yellow coaxial input? Dont know why I am confused on this.... I already have sat/nav/Sirius. Isnt this coaxial already connected to my APIM?
That compartment is for the European models, they have a third fakra port on them as well. On the euro modems, they have a little battery it looks like there. Guessing it’s to dial out in case of an emergency where the electrical wiring and or vehicle battery is damaged or destroyed.
I also have one of the dual fakra port modems, the red/pink goes to the PIFA antenna, the tan goes to a splitter that splits off of the APIM?
Where does one obtain the correct color vehicle wiring or how can I obtain one of your harnesses?

Finally got the new TCU to work. For some reason after reconnecting the wire jack it appeared in forscan. Now it stays in Authorized mode. I did follow some posts here above and could not reset the mode to "Waiting for authorization". Does the Authorized mode mean the TCU is tied up to another car? Any guide would be much appreciated.
