I think your issue with Forscan not showing the TCU is a Forscan issue. I did a harness swap in my F150 and after the swap my TCU worked fine as it did before, but it no longer showed in Forscan. That was the first time I hooked it up for a while but I had updated Forscan between connecting to my truck.
