Well, I don't need it thanks. I'm running 2016 Ford Fusion Energi and I know which code is ok for that car, but my TCU is from c-Max Energi 2013 with Sync2, which makes me think it's just not compatible with my Sync3.2. Anyway, I have some ideas how to make it work and will try them out this weekend.

Isn’t that a 2G modem? It may explain the zero cell signal as I read most of those modems were replaced or just stopped working as that cell band was decommissioned. You probably know more than me, I’m just learning and trying to figure out what I can and this forum is an awesome source

Nope, it has been replaced by Ford. I checked the VIN code of c-Max and it was working fine with the myFord Mobile app. My car had 2G modem and it didn't work, so I replaced it with the 3g one. you can see above in one of my post I shared the modem's photo.

I've also noticed one funny thing, when I was using Sync2 + 2G modem, I never made it to work since the modem didn't catch the cell signal, it always stayed 0. After upgrading to Sync3 it apparently caught the cell signal and started to work fine, but the Factory Mode never changed to Waiting for authorization. This makes me think the 2G modem will never work since it has been blocked by Ford. But my current 3G modem doesn't work since the cell signal is 0 too. This makes me think the TCU should get the correct command from Sync3. So, the best way to look for the correct TCU is to make sure the donor Sync matches your current one. In this case you just hook the new modem and it will start working without any problems.

Do you have any luck with it actually connecting in windows 10 and not just saying paired? I got it to connect one time but wouldn’t connect in Forscan after I disconnected from the OBDLink program for windows. Or do you just use your phone/iPad/tablet whatever it may be? I don’t know why it doesn’t stay connected. Even the cheap elmmodified Bluetooth one would stay connected and I could bring it up in Forscan, it was just unreliable and lost communication. Maybe there’s a better driver? I saw a lot of people have that same problem, but I don’t really see anyone fixing it

We use Windows 10 and honestly I have no issues with mine. Definitely no connectivity issues. Sorry you are having so many issues. Have you tried repairing it to your laptop?

Me too, I have paired and unpaired it several times, I’m going to fool with it more today and this weekend if I can’t get the two to cooperate together, it connects fine and stays connected to my iPhone, I’m just hoping it’s not my computer being a pain in the neck, it’s an older laptop with a newer Bluetooth and WiFi card, but I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if I just need a newer laptop

Your not trying to run the OBDlink software at the same time are you? Never had trouble with mine and Windows 10. Make sure its not trying to connect to your phone while trying to connect or use the laptop.

Ok, guys, I've tried to use every possible TCU code with forscan and I didn't make it work. It doesn't catch the cell signal at all. So, before purchasing a TCU we should check if the donor Sync version matches ours. Otherwise the TCU just doesn't work.
With the help of UCDS it would be possible to flash the TCU firmware, but I don't have it.

Is there anyone having a spare TCU to sell which came from a donor with Sync 3? I don't care about hotspot, I need MyFordMobile to work fine with it.

No, new computer got it connected, but still getting the can compatibility message when trying to go into the TCU as built data

What exactly is the can compatibility message that you are getting?
