On the flip side, I think the issue underlying here is that my 2014 never came with a TCU, and using the profile from my vehicle, it will never detect a TCU... my donor profile, I really have no idea what to do or if I’ll be able to ever get it to work.

Why cant you use the profile from a 2018 or 2019 Fusion?

I have the profile from a 2019 Ford Fusion, and it gives me the compatibility message when trying to get to the as built for the TCU

I think that's the problem. Using the profile from a newer vehicle on a different generation vehicle. I'm pretty sure there were a few significant changes to the network architecture from 2014 to 2015+.

Yeah forgot about the whole gen thing. Definitely matters.

Do you have a recommendation or know a way to get around this?

Have you connected the TCU to another Ford and tried changing the architecture type? then swapping it back. Livniup shared that as built data which is attached to the first post as a PDF. That would be the only workaround I can think of.

I have not. However, I’m traveling for business tomorrow and renting a vehicle. I should be able to program and activate in the vehicle, then after verifying it works, install it in my vehicle and have it work without having to reprogram or reactivate if I’ve done everything right?

Is changing the architecture type just the programming that dictates Ford, Lincoln, hybrid, etc?

I could pull my Sync 3 screen and APIM out and program it that way, then put everything back the way it was. Thoughts on this?

Side note, my Gen 3 (2019) APIM is configured for FordPass and hotspot, so it is configured to look for a TCU.

Will my 2014 ever see the TCU in its profile in Forscan after I hypothetically get it working?

Does anybody know what this TCU mode means? Is it not configured at all and needs a new firmware? I have some doubts about Country and Network Identity_TCU.
