Anyone using these on their '15 or '16 ?
Any concerns with the aluminum bed rail strength supporting these?
Also appears you will only be able to mount in specific areas as the under bed rail clamp spots are minimal.
Plan on mounting an RTT and I like the idea of having the rack lower in transport for stability, wind resistance, and mpg concerns and then adjusting up when needed for tent deployment.
your input is appreciated.
Thank you.
Robert

BTT
bueller.... bueller.... bueller....
okay, so over 100 views; no comments, input, or even opinions.
So either no one is using this adjustable bed rack system, or no one is concerned on the structural integrity of the aluminum bed rails and rack clamp mounting system.
Anyone?
Thanks.

I wouldn't see any reason 200lbs or so between 4 racks for support would cause issues with the aluminum. I wouldn't expect loads to exceed that trying to get something weighing more than that overhead. As far as I know I can safely stand on the plastic trim over the bedsides. (my weight 170lbs)
From looking under the truckside, not sure about specifically fender/top mount points for the rack system, but ford used lots of adhesives and areas of layered/riveted aluminum. I wouldn't expect damage from using them. For being aluminum bed seems relatively durable. Looks like it would work well.

I just installed one on my 2016. Minor contention with the bed extender system. The uprights rub the extension but it still works. I may remove the extender later since I have the longer bed. When I was tightening the clamps there was a cracking noise. I presume/hope that it was the plastic rail caps. I too intend to put an RTT on top of it.

Try here for some related discussion.

I looked at the Thule, but thought it was over priced. I went with the Maxxtow, and shortened the uprights so the RTT is truck roof height in transport mode. If I ever need a full height rack, I can buy extra uprights, and still be way cheaper than the Thule.
Very happy with my setup so far.
