What happens when Ford does release 3.4 and you have this update? Will this also void your warranty? Running a 2019 i am on the edge on wether to do this but this trucks sync is worst than previous.

I doubt anything will happen if/when Ford releases v3.4.

Unfortunately this is a change with no going back. Down the road for example if your APIM dies they probably would deny a warranty replacement if they know 3.4 was on it & Ford never issued that update to your truck. Can't imagine any other scenario where they could claim 3.4 was a cause of something.

Do we know if 3.4 will be released for any year F150?

I have everything downloaded and ready to go, but I have a question. I have a 2016 Platinum and a 2019 Raptor. The 16's has the old maps and the 19 has the new maps. Can I just update the maps on the 16 without doing the entire 3.4 conversion? Also on the 19 it will leave the same maps so I wonder what the big difference would be for that one.
Happy Thanksgiving and Thanks

The file structure is completely different and not cross compatible. New maps are almost a dozen files broken down by region so they load faster. Old maps are one file for north america.

Hey brothers, have a question for you. I'm in the middle of a long trip, and don't have time to read 1,000+ posts on this. On the second last leg of my trip, my stupid truck with only 11K miles and less than 1.5 years of ownership decided I didn't need nav, audio, or bluetooth, when I actually needed them the most. So drove for 3 hours with no music, no nav (using my phone), and no bluetooth. I'm leaving home tomorrow, for 600+ miles; hope the stupid truck doesn't act up. I tried today with ignition on, and everything was working again. Which brings me to my question for the experts:

System asked me if I wanted to check for updates via Wi-Fi, and I said 'yes', but need to wait until I get home, to use my Wi-Fi. My Jun-04-2018 built truck has version 3.0. Somebody posted a TSB that trucks with my symptoms needed an 'update'. So my question is if just connecting to my Wi-Fi home, would I get the latest update? Or the dealer version is something different, like a firmware? And finally, remember reading this thread much earlier than the 1000+ post, and it required using a USB. Hope I can avoid a trip to the dealer, so need to know what to try first, and see if my Sync keeps acting up (hopefully not). Thank you gang.

If your system is acting up then you don't want to do this until it is working correctly. With that said I read your other thread and I really think a trip to the dealer is your best bet. Stop by a local one before you head home and see if they can hook you up by performing the TSB. Explain to them you have a 600 mile drive and really would like the Radio and Nav working. In the last few days you could have had it done already.

Came back Tuesday night. Had plans with my daughter yesterday, and today was closed. No time to do anything here. Nor do I wanted to, really, since the system might not be acting up at the time, and it'd be a waste of my time anyway. If it works fine on the way home, then will attempt the Wi-Fi update. By the way, how long does that take??? Couldn't find it anywhere. And I have to leave the ignition on, correct? With my 5A Optimate6 charger, battery shouldn't get too low. To me, a dealer is my absolute last resort, so until the damn thing is DEAD for sure, I wouldn't touch a dealer . Rather drive home with no radio than seeing a dealer prematurely. Wish me luck .
