It is not wise to post some of the pictures at this time unless you want to draw unwanted attention from Ford.
Just try them I'm sure you will like several .
Aviator and Bronco are a couple of the favs but I'm using the Ford performance one for now.
Definitely understand that, but looks like most of the hubbub was caused by the boot screens and/or animations. I'm referencing the actual Sync 3 UI/UX theme. I see that we lost the ability to use the GT blue theme, and I have switched to the Lincoln theme. Just didn't know and couldn't find anything leading to any other available themes.
Very curious to see what the changes might be. Downloaded and prepping my USB stick, but would sure prefer someone else go first. ;-)
Thanks JRSBill, much appreciated!
I'll do mine at lunch. I haven't seen of any warnings from the usual peeps who first report this stuff, so you should still be able to downgrade to prior versions if there are issues.
I want to do this, but I am still on 2.3 and it’s my understanding that I’ll need to upgrade to 3.0 first. The problem is my APIM is retrofitted into a 2015, so I don’t have the ability to update to 3.0 directly through Ford.
I assume the process is essentially the same as this when it comes to building the USB stick for the upgrade, but I’m having trouble finding the files for 3.0. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Doesn't matter if you are a Sync2-Sync3 retro-fit or on Sync 3 version 1.0. Read post 1 and download the files that are linked in post 2. This will then reformat your APIM and install the 3.4 operating system and updated maps if you have NAV. If you don't have NAV, then download the Non-NAV files.

Thanks for the confirmation. I realize now that I misread an earlier post in this thread re upgrading from 2.3 to 3.4 and after rereading it, I can see the reply says the same thing you just told me. Thanks again!
I just installed the update. I couldn't tell you what's different. It took about 12 minutes to complete.
It doesn't fix the issues I'm having with the USB music (voice commands to play songs/playlists, etc. and not returning to the USB source after shut off)

Installed with no issues on a NAV unit, but required a hard reboot to reflect new version as the typical shut truck down, open/close door and restart did not work. 6 minutes with USB 3.0 Flash Drive:
I see no forward facing user feature changes. Seems visually crisper and also more responsive. I rely on my iPhone for music and nav so I don't have feedback on this version's native apps at the Sync level.
