I'm going to completely redo my first post at some point in the near future because it's obsolete and the firmware update is clearly not something most people should attempt. Along with this I'm pulling all the files down now (because they're old). I'll upload something else sometime this week. I'm looking at keeping the instructions simple.
Pretty much a simple guide to upgrade or downgrade to 3.4 build 19200, and how to perform a clean install with NA 1.19 maps using only one disk.
Your efforts are MUCH appreciated to say the least. Thanks!
Thread is moving fast so forgive me if I overlooked a mention of this before....but what is the correct configuration to install an earlier build but with the 19 maps? Or does the newer maps require newer build? I'm still on 3.0 and have usb's built for build 19101 with 1.18 maps but havent performed the update on the truck yet. Can I simply replace the map, voice, and license files (and edit install list to match) with the 1.19 stuff and be good to go? If so, does only the 3 nav voice files need to be replaced or does the main/stand alone one need the newer version as well. Unless I'm missing something, it doesnt seem like the newer builds really add or change anything useful for these retrofit sort of installs but the newer builds introduce these usb bugs...so seems like sticking with my already set up (on usb) 19101 build but replacing the 18 maps to 19 would be the most ideal way to go. I do have all files already, including build 20021 stuff so if it's better just to go straight to 20021 and 1.19 that isnt a big deal either.
All the information in this thread is for 3.2 or higher. You can not retain 3.0 when reformatting, nor can you go back once you do reformat. 3.2 19052 is the closest you can go and retain the same look and feel as a 3.0 build and have the 1.19 maps through reformatting.
The only currently known way to have the new maps and stay on a 3.0 build is to buy them from Ford.
Just out of curiosity, did you install Fords updated USB type C hub for Sync 3.4? I know of an MKC owner who had similar issues go away after changing to the newer usb hub.
No, I use the hub that I bought when I did the Sync2 to Sync3 retrofit to enable CarPlay. I do have a link to the USB-C and standard USB hub from Alliexpress, just haven’t ordered it yet.

Didnt mean to come across as I was trying to stay on 3.0...The truck has not been updated yet despite having the usb's built to update it is what I meant. Not too keen on 20021 with the usb issues and the USB I built up is for 19101 with the 18 maps. I just want to know if you can and what needs to change to keep the 19101 build but replace the 18 maps with 19, so when I do get around to plugging them into the truck I am on build 19101 with 19.1 maps instead of 19101 and 1.18. Not too interested in going straight to 2021 to get 19.1 maps unless I need to.

EDIT: Just realized you're asking about 3.4 19101. I think you're good if you add the correct Apps and Voice files with:
Every time Ford comes out with an update Tim Hortons gets a bit more of my money.
First obvious difference with Sync 3.4 build 20021 is that there is now a System Updates validation ID on the about Sync screen just above the bluetooth MAC address. Climate screen also has revised icons.
I'm guessing all of us caused Ford to add this so that dealers can easily tell who screwed up their APIM.
DanMc85 was right. All the files can be run on one drive, so thanks for that tip. I'll redo my first post and upload everything I used later. For now I just have a few screen shots.
NA 1.19 maps have more detail. The new runway at YYC for example is now visible.
Total install time (including the downgrade to 19200) took 30 minutes.
