So this Sync 3.4 is a hacked version with updates or is it a Ford released version that isn't available via their website or via Sync's update feature? Also I have not found what the extra menus are and why it needs changes done with Forscan, unless it is a hacked version.

Nearly certain this has been explained in multiple places already.
It's Fords software and won't ever be available through an update as covered already. The extra menus are for people who own Fords that shipped without Sync Connect or Sync 3 and who've retrofit all the necessary hardware components and wish to enable the hotspot feature. For Example someone installed Sync 3 in a 2013 Ford Fusion and someone else installed Sync 3 in a 2015 F150 and they used this method to enable their hotspot capable telematic control modules in APIM menus which would not exist otherwise. No hacking required. This is just a matter of enabling embedded controls within OEM parts. If you don't believe me feel free to verify the MD5's on your own time. The files all came from Ford servers.
If I had the ability to hack Sync 3, this entire thread would not exist and I'd be selling homebrew software to every Ford owner who has ever wanted to set their own background wallpaper, which I would imagine is just about everybody.

Thanks for the reply but I wasn't meaning you hack things. I tried searching for Sync 3.4 and come up with nothing but the website listed above in the hyperlink for tutorial. Everything I find on Ford's website is v.3.3, which my F150 has, so i was curious when I saw this on Sync 3.4 with updated maps so it caught my attention.
I followed the instructions here to upgrade my 2016 F150 Platinum to Sync3 v3.4. I did not even consider upgrading APIM firmware. I actually forgot to revert my FORScan changes before the upgrade, but everything seems to have translated over. It really could not have been easier.

Those menus are sweet! I haven't played with FORScan yet, but would love to get those menus on my 2019 Lariat with Sync 3.4
Finally had a chance to update my Sync w/Nav on my 2016 Lariat. Using Airborne_Ape's files everything went smooth and took about 30 minutes- thanks for putting these files together! The only thing I need to do is swap out my old USB hub (pre-apple carplay compatable) to a newer one to as I do get the message 'USB hubs are not supported. Please remove' when the system first starts up. I have an Andriod phone & the ports still work fine, but I have gone ahead and ordered the hub that also has a usb-c port.
My only question is: does Sync 3.4 allow you to save both FM and XM stations in the same favorites bar on our trucks and if so, how do you do this? I have read that this is possible on some Ford vehicles, but it may be APIM hardware specific.

The mixed presets are stored in the ACM (audio control module - aka tuner) in the newer models.
