Has anyone bothered to check if Sync 3.4 Build 210022 5U5T-14G381-FB will execute on APIM's with the 8" screens? I assume it is software for the 4" display, but I haven't bothered checking for myself yet. The file is only 408MB which is smaller than half the size of Sync3 v3.4 build 20021, but Sync 3.3 was only 480MB so part of me is optimistic maybe it's a lighter package for 8" displays without all the files for newer larger screen resolutions.

I'm hoping @UofMEngineer , @jm061 , or someone else here might know to save me the trouble of installing it just to find out if it works or not.

FB is just for the 4” screen. I remember someone using it due to it being newer on the Russian forum and was freaking out due to his screen only be half the size and wanted help fixing the issue.

Well after not being able to get my non-navigation APIM to update past 3.4 19274 I ended up finding a 3rd gen navigation APIM for $200 and bought it. Downloaded Folder 2 and everything upgraded without a hitch, I'm now on 20021 with 19 maps. I had Navigation on my MFT when I bought my truck but the navigation is a lot nicer on Sync 3. Is it as simply as switching APIMs, or do you need to add a new GPS antenna or anything? I assume a forscan change or 2.

Umm... I guess.
Personally, I think that's a giant undertaking for almost no gain whatsoever. I mean, good for you if it makes you happy, but there's no way I will ever recommend anyone do that.

It's more complex than you would expect. I've done a few of them and I'm not going into detail in this thread on the topic.

If you are already on sync 3 then yes I believe so, all I did was swap my apim, loaded my backup as built data from my non navigation apim and then made a change in Forscan to it. if you aren't on sync 3 then yes it is much more involved, but Sync 3 is way nicer than My Ford Touch and I had upgraded that a long time ago.
