I disagree, but if they are non-oem they are the best clone parts Ive ever bought!

2017 Non Nav unit currently running v3.0
Just wondering if buying and installing the USB C hub is absolutely necessary to get v3.4 for my truck? I don’t quite understand the necessity for it. The first flow chart listed it as optional but the latest one doesn’t.
Also, looking for clarification on what you mean by “experimental menus”?
Anyway besides those two questions it appears I just need to down the contents of Folder 3 to a USB drive formatted to MBR and plug and update right?

2. Menus which are used to be available thru IPC only, on 2019 hardware they are available thru SYNC, not all, just some.
3. Folder 2. Folder 3 is not needed if you replace corresponding files of Folder 2 with content of folder 3 and edit reformat.lst accordingly.

1. No. You may only need it if your current one doesn't have an authentic chip for Apple car play and not necessarily has to be type C.

Also now I’m slightly more confused as the flow chart says for 2017 non nav running v3.0 or older to install folder 3. You’re saying just ignore the flow chart and install folder 2?
Im usually a pretty techy guy but I wish the OP had more specific steps and instructions.

Okay so menus isn’t referring to like adding the climate screen or heated seat icons on my Sync3 through FORScan? Because I’ve done those mods.

the menus have nothing to do with anything you have in 3.0. They aren’t replacing, they are adding and you’d likely need a firmware update to even access them. The lines in the as built won’t be there without a firmware update.
They are things like activating folding mirrors and stuff that you turn on in the IPC now.
