Download all the files now before they get disappear. I had to ask for members to send me links via PM to get the rest of the nav files because I waited too long.

During the initial startup, a screen comes up asking if I "want to turn on the following features"
Automatic System Updates ON/OFF
SYNC diagnostics ON/OFF
What is the group's thoughts? Turn on? Leave off?

Been testing on my 17 for a few days now...
Rarely connected via BT due to carplay requiring a cable, but I was pleasantly surprised to see my s/o’s face on the screen during an incoming call today; I don’t recall picture ID in 3.0.
I like the modern UI, helps keep my 17 fresh...the updated maps were just a bonus.
Great post.

^ I was connected via BT, that’s how I knew Sync did it.
Carplay is enabled for my phone and would have taken over call management had it been cabled.
I have an iPhone X running IOS 13.1.3.

I have successfully upgraded my transplanted Sync 3 system in my truck from 3.0 to 3.4 using 2 USB sticks. I did not attempt to do the firmware update. As AA (OP) has made it very clear, the firmware update cannot be performed with Forscan, you must use specific hardware and software which I will not go into.
I went through several corrupt file errors and over an hour pause at "Extracting map package...". During this pause I built another USB, this time on a USB 3.0 stick. I had to pull the Sync fuse to get it to restart and it took about 2 minutes after I inserted the USB 3.0 stick for the format/update to begin. It was done within 30 minutes after restarting it with the USB 3.0 stick. If you are not familiar with them, USB 3.0 devices have a blue colored plastic key when you look into the connector, as opposed to a black one.
I used the files from a previous post to perform the successful upgrade. You can download all of the files for USB stick 2 in several zipped files.
Also, I only performed a quick format on USB stick 1 which was formatted FAT32. My first USB stick 2 was fully formatted FAT32. My second USB stick 2 (USB 3.0) was quick formatted exFAT, as there was no option for FAT32.
Everything seems to be working fine with it. I do not use XM/Sirius satellite so I haven't looked at the logos that others have had issues with.
