\not sure if checking for changes or reindexing, but takes 20 minutes or so before i can browse by artist. quite annoying. I can use voice commands to pull up what I want, or I can browse by folder. once indexing completes, i can browse any way.
As I said, I thought was drive and amount of music i had 500TB drive with 300TB music. so I switched to 32GB USB drive wiht 20GB of music. same issue. I also have 3 different vehicles with sync3 and all of them do it.

By my math - I get 300TB = 106 million songs according to this:

He had a 500GB drive with 300GB of music, which is reasonable if you're storing large volumes of lossless audio. I've got about 1TB of audio myself. But no, he doesn't have 300TB of audio (or anything else).

All of mine is FLAC, which the truck plays fine. It should also play Apple Lossless (AAC - M4A extension). I would expect it to do WAV as well, but I haven't tried it.

Okay. I only browse by folder. Can't remember the last time I tried by artist. As long as it doesn't take ~ 20min to browse by folder everytime you start the truck, we're good.

300TB of music? Is that all the music in the world? I put my 200+ CDs & LPs on an 8gb drive.
By my math - I get 300TB = 106 million songs according to this:

And here i was waiting my time converting to MP3 assuming out sync3 would not play FLAC........ looks like that 300GB will increase.... was too lazy to pick and choose so copied entire collection to drive.... if I use FLAC will have to pick and choose but at least better and consistent on sound quality compared to MP3

my FLAC are huge and all my MP#'s are at 320.
in MP3 format I am at:
CD's = 4498
SONG's = 63,246
TOTAL SIZE = 379GB
if i hit random play for all songs, i think my great grandchildren may be dead before it finishes! and I don't have even grandchildren yet! (that I know of...)
Granted I don't need all that, again was just too lazy to pick and choose. Plus is nice having alternate genre music for those traveling with me that are offended by my own taste in music.
