Depends on the LE agency/jurisdiction and whether or not there are violation cameras. May be too a CA Veh Code thing, but you'd be surprised. I ran no front plate on many of my vehicles for years until L.A. City wanted to run red light cameras (which were struck down by whatever court case). Now I run a front plate because I sometimes transport firearms to designated shooting areas and I don't wish to engage LE during those times in particular.
Defence, your truck is coming along nicely. Do you plan on a different wheel/tire combo? and hence the flares?

It's required, question is, are you willing to get pulled over and maybe ticketed or worse for not having one.
I mean, some states any visible tint on front windows is illegal and many more anything darker than like 35% VLT is illegal, but...you still see it everywhere
