I love my change from Halogen to LED's but I've never understood why anyone would want more light on their license plate. I want enough to be legal. But no more. But thats just me.

Its more to get the LED look and light color. When everything else is LED, the halogens stand out and I'm not a fan.

I get the light color difference, but I’m wondering if the increased light output creates issues with glare on the rear view camera? Anyone try shading part of the lense to block the extra light?

I did. Covered half the lenses with some carbon wrap to reduce the rear camera glare.

I tried it but the light still pointed up on the tailgate too much for me so I did the Super Duty license plate light housing mod.
