My compressor is down so I ended up getting some rattle Oxford white and black, otherwise I would've sprayed it. Ended up using an SEM rattle can clear, wetsanded and buffed. Prepped with SEM adhesion promoter, and I have always used the JB Weld plastic weld for re assembly. Patience is key. I was happy with the results, humidity was really high so the clear did some silly things, but nothing a wetsand with 2k and polish couldn't fix.
Cleaned it using Chemical Guys EcoSmart waterless wash, used Forscan to enable my Hill Descent Control switch I installed a few days ago. Very happy about both!
I did mine last year and I had cut up and cramped hands for days! Don't worry a few days in the sun the seats will look better than OEM
Thanks. Yeah that's what I figured. I'm actually pretty happy with it, and after a couple weeks with the cab heating up in the sun, it'll smooth out those two corners. I've seen some that were way worse than mine, and they were fine after a while.
As for the hands, they seemed a little sore at first, but after a few hours they were back to normal. About like working on anything else that requires a fair degree of hand dexterity and repetitiveness. I managed to make it all the way through with absolutely no cuts, and then after I bolted them back in the truck, and was getting out, I scraped two fingers on a sharp edge on my garage door track (of all things!), and that bled for a few minutes. Like most anyone else who works with their hands, I've got plenty of nicks and cuts already, but not a single cut or scrape anywhere else from this entire project.
