Large washers on toggle switches make plastic trim panels last longer
I had installed aftermarket 10 temp seat heaters in early 2018. The one drawback was there was no way to segregate the seat or backrest heater. It was both or none. It popped in to my head the other day that I had some waterproof toggle switches laying around so, why not?. This morning I went down to the shop got out the switches, strippers, crimpers, electrical connector boxes, heat shrink, heat gun and started building harnesses. I split the driver’s heater harness open and spliced the new harness in to the ground side, drilled 2 holes in the outer seat trim panel and installed the toggles. I can now run to yoga class with just the backrest heater on and loosen up my lower back, fragmented disc L-3/L-4, on the drive in to town. I will get around to adding the second harness and switches to the passenger side later. Very seldom do I have passengers so there is no big rush.
Received new bumpers today. Only had a chance to install the rear. Hope to have front installed this week. Flush mount rear lights ordered and awaiting arrival.
