Everybody is fine, it turned out extremely well considering how badly it could have gone. She lucked out and left me enough time and space to slam on the brakes and squeeze between her and the guardrail. Also fortunately I was, according to my camera's GPS, 3 mph under the speed limit at the most.

Damage is minimal. As far as I can tell, after crawling around under the truck and looking and having my wife look, no actual aluminum body panel has any damage. The running board protrusion seemed to take it. Also the plastic cap that covers the lugs on my wheels is scraped and the fender flare has some paint missing. Will get a pro/shop to inspect it for things I don't know to look for or missed but she and her insurance might get out pretty cheap considering.

It was a real oh **** moment and a reminder of why you don't drive distracted, she would have been toast if I wasn't on the ball and she had two kids in the car one of which couldn't have been more than like 60 lbs

Yes, good you were on the ball. Hopefully it all turns out as well for the truck. That's a real "Oh 3$!k" moment for sure. What was she thinking, well, obviously not, kids distract her, or the stupid phone?

She said she just didn't see me. IDK why, full size truck in broad daylight coming at steady speed. The angle of her road does make it a little awkward I suppose

After seeing advice on here, I tried to lower the back of the back seat on the drivers side of my 2019, XLT Scab. I was searching for the loop, digging around behind the top of the seat and I found it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t attached to anything. I could feel the **** it used to be attached to but even with a tool, I couldn’t release the latch. I’m taking it in for a recall soon, so I’m going to let the service department reconnect it.

Hey the trick is, raised the bottom of the seat first, then pull the bronze looking piece behind the seat. Those loops aren't meant to let you drop the seat as the actual intention is for factory subwoofer I believe. I store my baseball bat and glove back there. Hope that helps.

That sucks!

A 16yr old girl changed lanes into me in downtown Houston... her mom said to her “REALLY?!?! You couldn’t see that great big truck?!?” Similar damage too - step, flare and a light scratch down my doors from her mirror... $2300 was the estimate. I bought the Amp steps instead, found a like new take-off flare on eBay and will have scratch fixed soon.

Side note - I did install my rear Bilsteins today! Appt Friday to have fronts installed along with alignment. I was leaning to the 1.75” setting, but I have over 3” of rake currently... so rethinking the 2.1” setting, and then replacing the rear block if I want a tad more rake.
