Sorry. For some reason I mis-read your first post as saying you were getting ice cream off the bottom of your truck. Where I got that from I have no idea.
Sorry I just saw this. Made me chuckle. One time the Mrs. and I were on our way to the Outer Banks, and I can't remember exactly where, but there was an overturned truck on an off ramp. He was carrying a load of watermelons, was going too fast and overturned. Watermelons were everywhere. Yeah, but never an ice cream truck. If that ever happens, I'll be sure to post it. lol.
I don't know what the breaking limit of the shackle mount is but they will match and likely exceed the stock loops.
What I like is that I can bolt something to them if I want to.
Those bow shackles are 7/8 pin WLL 4 3/4 ton each with a breaking point of 19000lb each.
They're Husky brand from the Home Depot $10 each.
Thanks to the information provided by @rd.king and @1M05 I made changes to my aftermarket accessories connected to the battery.
Nice and clean negative terminal of the battery.
Since I had the hood open again and a couple spare minutes I also checked fluids and took care of other maintenance items.
changed the air intake filter to a no oil aem dry filter
removed the plastic bed liner and added a husky rubber mat
I wouldn't mind getting rid of my plastic Ford bedliner, but am worried about things banging up against the aluminum inside bed? I often load snowblower and can't imagine that thing rubbing the paint inside the bed?

Added some cube lights to either side of the windshield cowl. 30 minute install and now I am ready for the off-road jungle or at least the urban jungle/trail. Very warm here in VA today, almost 70 degrees. I plan on routing the wires and installing the on/off switch tomorrow.links below for lights and mounts.

how did you remove the plastic bed rail covers without breaking every clip??
if I remember correctly you need to break the clips to get the bed liner off you'll need to get new clips to reinstall.
Does anyone else feel like with the plastic drop in bed liner you lose a bit of space in the bed as well? I feel like you lose a few inches on each side.
