I think the correct term would be bedding in the brakes. Break in works too though, but yeah does sound strange being break and brake are so commonly interchanged by accident.
I’ve been eyeing the Z36 setup. Are the drilled/slotted rotors necessary for those pads, or do many believe solid or plain rotors work fine with them?

Drilled offer nothing on a road vehicle, even most race vehicles, it's less contact surface.

Many say the drilled does nothing I personally don't know so I can't answer. These guys have good feedback on these things. I had a front set of powerstop on my 2000 Dakota and they did well so I decided to go with them again. If I have any issues with these next I'll change brands. I'm not a brand loyalist on things like this I usually just go with what worked for me before.

I went with 2 piece slotted on my race car (I’ll never get a drilled set) but those F’ers moan and squeal like a pro on broadway on a Saturday night.
I personally wouldn’t go with an aggressive pad/rotor combo on any streetcar. The noise/dust/corrosion issues get old.

is that a Dutchess County plate on the Ranger? My grandfather (from Beacon) always said that the plate letters corresponded with the county they were registered in. Now that was when I was growing up decades ago (in the 80s) and I am sure if that was the case things have changed now

I spent a summer living between Beacon and Cold Spring at a place on Route 9 called Dutchess Manor back in the day

I spent every summer up there with my grandparents. All the way into college. Best memories ever. Even though my grandparents were there and we lived in MO, my brothers and I were closer to our grandparents than friends who had grandparents in same town.
