Got the tire plugged and mounted up. Got to clean up the rim since it got dirty. I did also clean the spare off. Poured some dish soap over it, sprayed it with water and scrubbed away. Cleaned up good. Spare had never been mounted. Checked the pressure on it to make sure it was still at a decent level and going to mount it back up under the bed.
Yup, degreaser will be fine, don't use detail spray in there.
It's your plastics!
Hell no.
This.
If it'll come off with some dawn in a spray bottle then it's a good choice.
whats wrong with degreaser? I use it all the time on plastics and thick rubber..... although not on aluminum, alloy wheels (theres a chemical reaction that stains these surfaces), or leathers.
when i say i use it..... i load it up and let it run down then spray some more. Been doing this with no issues.
i work at an equipment dealer which buys and sells new and used hydro excavators and street sweepers of all types. These machines come in looking beat up and neglected i use murrado degreaser in a large 3 gal. Sprayer and douse the engine bay with it, even use a power washer with 200° water to clean off old grease. And the interiors, i apply it to microfiber towels, even the glass gets a wipe.
does wonders on cloth seats with stubborn coffee stains(microfiber towel), to clean my grill(rinse it down with the hose), Road tar and bug splater is no match for this either(microfiber towel). Doesnt hurt fake chrome found on grills(brush).
mechanics use brake clean to clean areas they worked on (that removes light layers of paint with oils, Not recommended)
We finally had a day that the temperature is not in the triple digits, so I finally changed the spark plugs out to some that are one step colder than stock. Should allow for a bit more spark and boost in my tune...according to the guys at the Tuning School anyway.

Nothing wrong with degreaser, i was arguing against the user of brake cleaner, that's a terrible choice
Water based degreasers are typically safe on your wheels too, though none of them should be allowed to dry anyway.
Used a magic eraser and some Dawn to clean up my rim that got grease and gunk over it from the shop. Scrubbed it down good. Checked the pressure in the other three tires and put the spare back in its place. I was planning to do this yesterday but, yeah that didn't happen. I also gassed up for the week. The plug has held up so far. Hoping it holds up for a while until I get all four replaced at the same time.
