I feel very proud. I assembled a new spare tire lock assembly and actually got my key to work the lock. It came with 30 different tumblers for 5 different slots. I had to measure the cuts on the key from 2.15mm to 4.55mm for each of the 5 tumbler slots. What a pain, but I figured it out. Woohoo!
Stupid me left the spare tire lock on the bumper after dropping my spare to torque my new diff cover bolts. I didn’t realize it until the lock was long gone. $50 for a new assembly and my time. The dealer wanted $125 to key a new lock for me…on top of the cost of the lock assembly!
For the last few days I was wondering where I put my flashlight. I began to think where did I last put it. Remembered that I was using it to change the blend door actuator. I pulled back the panel in front of the driver's knees and low and behold I left it in there!

As for mine, today I had a hour or so in between errands so I threw the cheep box in the bed. Notes: Amazon reviews had people whining that the bracket holes were not the same same spacing as the BoxLink plates. Mine was the same and its nothing the old bench vice on my work table couldn't take care of in like 10 seconds. Took the BoxLink plate with me to squeeze the bracket together to get the same bolt spacing as the BoxLink plate. The other thing I had to do was bend the lower corner tie-down a bit toward the bedside in order for the swing box to fully swing to its latched closed position, again, a simple job for the vice. Its decent quality, yes its all plastic but since it'll be snuggled under the bed cover I think it will be fine. Won't get wet or loads of constant sunshine on it anyway. Meh.
I also reused my BoxLink Torx bolts rather than the one's included.
Pics before someone says pics or it didn't happen. LOL.
Motor on Gentlemen!
I have these installed on both sides. The plastic guides for the lock rod ended up breaking (that allows the swing away) . I added a couple rubber insulated wire clamps to hold the lock rod on each unit.

Yep a couple spares were included in the hardware baggie.
