How helpful is that? I was looking at getting a bracket to mount a couple LED cube lights on the ball mount and wire in a quick connect off a relay triggered by the reverse lights (and box lights if I can).

This retains the OEM look and provides additional lighting when hooking up a trailer in the dark.
Before you proceed, I would suggest finding an F150 that has this light so you can make your own decision.

Well it certainly isn't as bright, or fugly, as the cube lights you're referring to.

Frankly I don't care what they look like. I already have a huge adjustable hitch hanging off the back all the time anyway. What I do want, is to be able to see what's behind me so I don't back into another mailbox, off the edge of a narrow road turning around, or hit something with a trailer I'm trying to park. That little pen light sized thing doesn't seem big enough to be useful. Unless it's IR and the camera can use that, but that doesn't help when using the mirrors.

Thanks for the help.
Based on the other thread it sounds like it's only for hooking up to a trailer at night. Waste of effort and money for what I need. The "fugly" lights will be removable when I don't need them. Better than pissing away money on useless ****.
