I know it's illegal, but anyone have any information on windshield tint? I've seen some posts in here but was just wanting some feedback. Darkest I'd go is 50% probably

Depends on the state if it's legal or not. I believe Texas is now at 75% transmission because they have new ceramic flims Air 80 and Air 90 are popular ones. One has 80% transmission and the other has 90%. 99% UV rejection, Air 80 has 42% solar heat rejection, Air 90 has a 28% solar heat rejection. Both have a 9% reflected light characteristic from the outside. In Texas we can have Air 80 (I've been debating putting it on my truck), so it may not be as illegal as you think depending on what you want. But there are some on the forum that actually have the tint done, I don't have personal experience yet.

Default Installed F150Leds.com taillights/turn signal LEDs. (No pics)

I own 2015 F150 XLT Sport/FX4. Ordered LEDs for taillights from f150leds.com. They sent me the resister wire harness for the taillights/signal LEDs with the bulbs. I installed with harness which was supposed to prevent hyper flashing... I installed and noticed I got three hyper flashed followed by no flash at all while using turn signal. So I disconnected the wiring harness and just installed the LEDs with OEM wiring. Now flashes normal and in sync with other lights/turn signals. I am confused. Now, the only annoying part is the clicker/turn signal indicator in dash cluster hyper flashes/clicks, but actual lights are operating normal. Anyone ever deal with this before. Is it possible the OEM setup in my truck does not need the harness with resisters? How would I address the annoying hyper signal indicator in dash cluster?
Any info would be appreciated, as I am a rook with this stuff.
Thanks,
Alex

My suggestion would be to email f150leds. Their customer service is really good from what I've heard, I'm sure they'd be able to help.

Good to know, may have to look into that, being in hot/humid Houston.

Yeah, I started hearing about it and looked into state law (tbh was going to run the Air 80 anyway because nobody would notice at 80% transmission). Texas recently passed a bill allowing clear windshield film.

I've actually read a lot of vehicle codes for Texas when I installed blue halos on my last truck. Checked legality for running on the road before installation, 100% legal, didn't stop me from getting a ticket (fought with the prosecutor and got it dismissed, for $15 and my word that I would disconnect them... She asked me to remove them AFTER we discussed that they were legal. I promised they were disconnected, at the time they were because the switch was off. Lol) Then a different time had a cop stop me and ask me to turn them off. I did, but explained to him why I came to the conclusion that they were legal. He didn't agree, but didn't charge me so I didn't care.

Did some Forscan mods last night. Changed Sync 3 theme to Lincoln Presidential, temperatures above engine and trans gauges, seat climate controls on Sync screen, "Bambi" mod, double honk disabled, but botched the attempt at auto fold mirrors. Gonna have to revisit that today.

I have 35% on my windshield top to bottom. Illegal yes, but extremely nice to drive around with on a sunny day, worth every $ from a ticket, which I haven't gotten yet. I also have 20% on my driver window. This is also extremely nice to look out of when trying to make a left, and the sun is pointed right at you, you don't even need to squint.

Feels safer driving around with dark tint. The sun is no longer a factor.
