That's not what I mean. Yes the leather is added aftermarket but the dealer doesn't pay for this. Neither is it added to the sticker price. The program is ran through Ford motor company and is available throughout many dealerships. Do you think dealers are going to give you Katskin leather for free?

Just pointing out what you originally said "the XLT already has leather" was wrong. The fact is, they don't.

You misread my post then. I said the XLT has a leather wheel not seats. I said it has LED bed and spot lights not headlights. My point was, it does offer something LED and leather as opposed to the XL.

That's why there are so many trim levels and options.
amen!....no leather? No LED? Base...
let’s not even talk about how somehow Toyota made their array of sensor as ‘base’ as well.

Fine. Agree. XLT is base. That said...So I'll do a value proposition. I have a very nicely equipped XLT. ... Or, i could "move up" to a Lariat trim......with fake/tacky wood panels on the door, leather seats (meh), 4A (which is useless in a truck IMHO), maybe a bit fancier dash, vibrating seats ( I have a wife for that), instrument panel that tells me the psi of the turbo boost (not a Nascar driver... don't care) dual climate (I'll turn up the heat more and close my vents if the wife is cold)......
......Or, buy my "basic trim" poor man's XLT and get this for free (for the same price of a Lariat).

But, whatever floats your boat

I didn't get to open or close it so I can't confirm how it works.
