Looks like the HDPP is still an option! Hopefully it will be available on more trims/packages.

I guess I already knew that, but I wasn't thinking about it in those terms.

So the biggest problem with the current 5.0 is oil consumption.

And the most comment complaint of cylinder deactivation is oil consumption.

Ford is now introducing cylinder deactivation to the 5.0.

Got it.

They don't want GM using that info. It also gives Ford another news cycle.

I'm both impressed and disappointed at the same time. I really like a lot of what I saw, even my wife was impressed. But, there were no true specifics given, especially on the trims and the available options. It felt more like a thirty minute commercial than a launch. I'll be interested to see what's available for each trim as the information comes out. That said, the King Ranch looks down right beautiful.

Obviously you know now that some things like LED headlights and push button start have trickled down to the XLT. There are better camera options and other stuff too. The larger hybrid can attach to your house if you have a power outage. All you need is an outlet on the exterior of your house hooked to an internal transfer switch. Center console will have wireless charging, USB and USB-C ports. The pockets on top of the tailgate are not just for clamps. They will allow you to attach aftermarket and Ford work tables and other stuff. The fold flat seats are bad ***. A huge thing for me and something I've nagged engineers about is we finally get the option of MONOTUBE shocks. They are so much nicer than the standard twin tube stuff we have had for years. The leather is a lot nicer than before. The large screen has some cool split screen options that give you a lot more info at once than the current screens. The side mirrors show a great deal more than the current gen. Tow mirrors are roughly the same as now. Frames are improved. The front bumpers attach much differently than before and should give a more consistent fit. There are some really cool rims coming. The interior on every trim level has a much nicer feel than the current generation. More cameras than the current trucks. You will be shocked at the size and sleekness of the hybrid batteries. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but it's late and I'm tired.

So its just a refresh right James. Haha

The pic with the window handle appears to be a regular cab. See how close the glass is behind the seat?

Does anyone have an absolute side view picture? From the pics I've seen so far, it almost looks like the lower part (angle) of the front end sticks out as opposed to a more squarish look. Sure hope I'm wrong!
