Otherwise, the cylinder deactivation is another point of complication to the 5.0l. The buyers of the 5.0l, besides the power and the sound, want reliability...

To everyone saying its ugly, I would wait till you see one in person, I called the 2015 f150s ugly at first (I now own a 2017), I called the 2018s ugly, I now think they look so good I prefer them to the 2015-17s. I called the 2019 Silverados ugly, They've grown on me now that I've seen some driving around. Once you see one pass you on the highway in the right color with the right trim level when someone has made it look right with some decent tires and stuff, you'll be impressed. The only new truck I thought was crazy ugly at first and still do is the new GMCs.

absolutely !! I didn’t think about that. Yes, payload will have to be sufficient for me to get it. Someone said the batteries are sleek and compact so hopefully it doesn’t eat into payload that much. And I pray that you will be able to order the power boost in the HDPP because that’s something I would want with this configuration.

It's on the Ford.com website. You will see photos where you can scroll across and see all the trims interior. Starts with XL and goes all the way to Limited.
It's right below where it says "Power of Choice" .
Edited to add: I see where several have answered the question

The TSB 2365, updated PCV, and mileage have cured my consumption.

Well I'm glad they finally revealed the damned thing so I can comment a bit. A couple of things that you might find interesting. Obviously you know now that some things like LED headlights and push button start have trickled down to the XLT. There are better camera options and other stuff too. The larger hybrid can attach to your house if you have a power outage. All you need is an outlet on the exterior of your house hooked to an internal transfer switch. Center console will have wireless charging, USB and USB-C ports. The pockets on top of the tailgate are not just for clamps. They will allow you to attach aftermarket and Ford work tables and other stuff. The fold flat seats are bad ***. A huge thing for me and something I've nagged engineers about is we finally get the option of MONOTUBE shocks. They are so much nicer than the standard twin tube stuff we have had for years. The leather is a lot nicer than before. The large screen has some cool split screen options that give you a lot more info at once than the current screens. The side mirrors show a great deal more than the current gen. Tow mirrors are roughly the same as now. Frames are improved. The front bumpers attach much differently than before and should give a more consistent fit. There are some really cool rims coming. The interior on every trim level has a much nicer feel than the current generation. More cameras than the current trucks. You will be shocked at the size and sleekness of the hybrid batteries. I'm sure I'm forgetting something but it's late and I'm tired.

Do you know of any changes made to the body structure itself? In a couple of pictures I thought I could see the door seals on the body are different, which tells me the body structure was redesigned. I am interested if they made the body stiffer, made changes to reduce NVH, reduce wind/road noise (not that it's bad by any means, but continual improvements), etc.
You said changes were made to the frame, will you elaborate? Also, you mentioned monotube shocks. Will you please describe any other suspension changes? It looks like the same general setup we have now, just curious if anything was done to refine the ride, refine steering, etc.
I think the changes Ford introduced yesterday are really cool (especially the onboard generator and additional safety features), and I am really curious about the "bones" of the truck and what refinements/improvements were made.
Also, pretty cool on an XLT you can get the 360-camera, push-button start, LED headlights, large infotainment screen, climate control, and lots of safety features. Do you know if adaptive cruise will be offered on the XLT?
Thanks for the feedback!

unless it ends up with only a 500 pound payload cause they’ve stuffed it with 1000 pounds of batteries. It’s going to need to be a heavy duty payload model, which hopefully they’ll allow it on higher trims. I want to know the range while towing a travel trailer, too; does it go down a lot? I know the gas tank is smaller, but they said 700 miles unladen. I’m eyeing this as potentially the perfect camping rig, too, but PAYOAD PAYLOAD PAYLOAD!

I will agree on the Chevy (1500, the HD is still butt ugly), I thought they looked pretty ugly when they first showed it, but they have grown on me as I see them in the wild. Especially the ones with the painted front and rear bumpers in a darker color like the metallic red or metallic dark blue. The Chevy is probably the most 'athletic' or sporty looking truck right now.

So after sleeping on it, I thought about it a little more and my concerns from the Mach E reveal has come creeping back. I'm concerned about the "connected" nature that most vehicles are heading in (totally forgot that the new Bronco is probably getting the same tech). I know it's inevitable, but I'm not sure I'm quite ready to go along with it. Maybe I'm just nostalgic because I've only had old F150s (86, 94, and 02) but those were all trucks I could work on myself using basic hand tools underneath a shade tree. The newest vehicle I've owned is my 2013 Flex Limited and even that was too much tech for my tastes. The Adaptive Cruise Control sensor went out and instead of just losing that feature, I lost my cruise control entirely. So things like Ford 360 concern me because WHEN those cameras and sensors fail, what else will I lose?
An F250 is alittle overkill for my needs, but it's the last "low tech" Ford truck with a more basic v8 gasser. I'll wait and see what the XL and XLT have as standard but the 5.0 with cylinder deactivation is probably deal killer for me. An F250 XLT with the Godzilla is probably my sweet spot.

I like all the updates. Like most I'll go see them at the auto show or when they arrive at dealers to see them in person. I didn't care for the chrome grill on the Lariat, so I can't wait to see the Sport model. For me, I'll ride my 17' until they release the new Raptor or I would consider the 2nd Gen as well.
