Looks like the lay flat seats might be on hold with a TBD status. This from a dealer I'm considering ordering through. I doubt I'd ever make use of them anyway. I thought they'd be nice to have though especially since it didn't add all that much but I'm not going to hold up the build indefinitely for that option.
I thought ordering would be more fun and fulfilling, finally getting a truck EXACTLY the way I want it but Ford seems to have a lot of "gotchas." Almost every choice I make forces me into a black truck! It reminds me of a time back in the 80s when I was going to order a Toyota something or other. Their process back then was so locked up and regimented that the only way to get AC was to choose black paint!

There is no option that forces you to have black. If you choose an option on the build and price that isn't available with the color you previously chose, it will default to black. Check the order guide for color choices against the options you want.

Now that is one that has had me confused. Why limit colors? It's not as if certain orders change the body in some way to make it special that it can only be built when that color is being sprayed. They limit the Limited to 4 colors, making it hard to want one if you don't like any of the for colors, but then again, it IS Ford where you can have it any color as long as it is black. I get some of the option bundles where you can only get this item if you get this package and not that package, but the color choices, that just seems so rudimentary.

Choosing Limited also forces you into the short bed (5.5 feet), the 3.5 EcoBoost and 22 inch wheels.
As for the color limitations I imagine this all has to do with assembly line efficiency. I read somewhere here (possibly even in this thread) that color choice alone would dictate which factory assembles the truck. I'd bet that is because each color would require it's own paint room or they would have to change colors in the paint rooms which would cost money and slow them down. It would probably waste a lot of paint and the cleaning chemicals themselves and perhaps even impact consistency in color and finish. Apply that same logic to the rest of the build process and I can see where the bean counters would call the shots on some of this.
I'm not defending them by any means but I do get it.

so you can't get a hybrid limited? 22 inch wheels were standard on the 2020 limited

Wow, people just love arguing here. I never said you couldn't get a hybrid limited. The same 3.5 EcoBoost engine is available with or without the hybrid option and all I said was you were forced into that one engine. If anything the limited forces you into the hybrid with the 7.2kw generator but I would have to look that up to verify but I'm buying ether a King Ranch or a Platinum so I don't care.
