Default Anyone here at a Ford dealer than can help me with a compatibility question?

Hello everyone,

First time posting on here; I tried searching here and Google with no luck.

I got a 2021 F150 Platinum 3.5L EcoBoost a few months ago. I still have to install the leveling kit, but I already did a few things like wheels/tires, subwoofers and exhaust. I hate the fact that Ford makes the exhaust sticking out of one side, so I put on a MBRP dual exhaust on it. The thing is, because the bumper does not have cut-outs for the exhaust, it doesn't look right.......especially from the side. Does anyone know if the rear bumper from a 2021 F150 Tremor will bolt right up to my truck? I don't see any reason why it wouldn't since it is essentially the same truck.

Any of you guys that have an F150 Tremor package, can you measure the width of the cut out for the exhaust? MBRP uses a 4" exhaust tip which I think is larger than the factory dual exhaust, so my other concern is whether the tips will fit into the bumper cut outs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured as much. The Tremor is a high end package, so it should have all the sensors and everything my truck has. Hopefully someone who has one can chime in with the size of the cut outs so I can order one.

I was following a Limited today that had a color matched bumper cutouts for duals. I am pretty sure it was a 2021.

Default Not 100 percent sure but I doubt that the 4" tips will fit since ford uses 3" exhaust

I'm sure that the Tremor bumper will bolt up. There is no way that they would have made the back of the frame different for a production vehicle. But if I were you I would take it to a quality exhaust shop and have it come out on both sides behind the rear wheels. Not only will it look better but it will sound better too!

Nah, they stopped doing it on the Limiteds. That was my original idea, but I looked it up and the 2021 Limited has the one pipe to the side.

As they say: Different Strokes for different folks. I like the look of them coming out the back with the cut outs. This is a buddy of mine's truck. I absolutely LOVE this look.

Below is a pic of the rear bumper cap for the regular 2021 F150 like what is on my truck now and the one off of a 2021 Tremor that I ordered. The upper tabs that go into the bumper itself seem to have different mounting holes drilled on it, and the lower tab is definitely different, too. Upon doing more research, we discovered the the P/N's for the hitch on the Tremor is different from the regular F150. It seems that the bumper caps mount partially to the bumper and partially to the hitch itself. The only way we will know for sure is by taking things apart and see where everything lands, but you sounded pretty confident with your answer so I wanted to ask how it is that you're 100% sure it'll bolt right up?

The hitch off of the Tremor is almost $400 at dealer cost and it is a special order item that cannot be returned if I order it. I am going to have the bumper caps painted, but what I don't want to do is take my truck apart, realize that I need the hitch off of the Tremor at that point, then have to put the truck back together to order the hitch and do the same thing all over again.

A complete bumper from a Tremor will bolt right up in place of yours. I don’t know about just swapping out end caps. You original post asked about the bumper so I thought you meant the whole thing. I can try and look at them Friday to see how difficult it would be for just the caps. I know because I work in the plant and can watch them getting installed.

I see what you mean about my OP, but even if I did replace the entire bumper, the hitch itself is a different P/N from my hitch, as well. I don't understand what the connection is between the hitch and the bumper caps. Do the mounting points on the bumper cap change only to make way for the exhaust tips, or does it attached to the hitch/bumper in some way that I will not be able to on mine?

I still have some time before the caps get painted and I get a chance to install them. I appreciate any insight that you can provide; it would be a big help to me and anyone else thinking of doing this. People in other forums have asked about this conversion and it remained unanswered there, too.

I can try and take pics on Friday. No idea why the trailer hitch matters.
