Bluecruise Function - Normal to go on and off?

New 2024 F150 Platinum. I've had a chance to drive on the highway some in the last week and try the cruise. A couple trips, maybe a total of 3 hours. Bluecruise behavior seems odd and I want to see if this is normal.
When I activate cruise, it comes on first as adaptive cruise with the Lane keep assist, not Bluecruise. After a couple minutes, sometimes, but not always, it will switch to hands free Bluecruise. Bluecruise will generally work for maybe 10 minutes, then it switches back to adaptive cruise with lane keep assist, but sometimes Bluecruise works for longer, but never more than 20 minutes. Sometimes it will switch to adaptive, then back to Bluecruise in a short period. On some trips it won't ever go to Bluecruise, it will only give me adaptive cruise with the lane assist. When it does work it's switching back and forth between adaptive cruise and Bluecruise, alternating between them at varying time intervals.
The area I drive has excellent signal connectivity (major interstate). Some of my driving has been at night, and there are some construction zones so not sure if that matters or not.
Is this normal function for Bluecruise, or is something wrong with my truck?
TIA.

Yea, BC is not perfect by any means. Happens to mine, too.

Watch your speed. I had the same issue…….then i realize that BC shuts off past 81 mph.

Thinking of it as self-driving can lead to some frustration... however I choose to look at it differently since I wouldn't trust something that tried to "drive" under all conditions. I think of it this way - Blue Cruise needs certain conditions to be met, at which point it will fully function. If any of those fail (curve too sharp, visibility too poor, no lane lines, not a mapped divided highway) then it will shut off. I find this allows me to trust it more when it is working rather than be frustrated when it clicks off. May or may not work your you, YMMV.

My 23 doesn’t have it. I spent about 10 days in a 24 XLT that did have it and while it was neat, it also made me seasick with its constant corrections and over corrections, both on lane centering and speed.

Wow you are sensitive to that. I use BC / Lane Assist everyday...50 miles each way on highway. I LOVE BC/LA...can't live without it.

I have a '23 Plat and this is not normal behavior based from my experiences. When I turn it on, it only takes seconds to activate. I use it regularly for short trips around town but also on a few 7-8 hour trips. Mine will only shut off before sharp turns. My gripe with Blue cruise is turning off without warning, seems like quite a safety issue.

Yeah, something you gotta keep in mind is Bluecruise isn’t operational on all roads. It only works on the designated highway. It does seem that many things will kick it out, to include worn or faded lane markings.
I hate to say it, but there is some really good info in the owners manual. Starts on page 356.
