Here's something really impressive. When's the last time that someone made their first and only post on this board, disappeared, and it spawned 105 pages?

So, maybe instead of a reporter, he's just a report?

Some more detail revealed through a survey, showing some (potential) option packages and pricing by trim level.

If it’s true, 5000 pounds towing with the standard battery is a disappointment for me. So you need to get the larger battery for any serious towing, which reduces your payload and effectively limits your towing capacity anyway.

Basing tow weight limits on battery size makes no sense. Either battery has way more HP & TQ than necessary. Sure, range will vary, but weight limit should not. I wonder if Ford is pairing the weaker rated hitch with the smaller battery? Has to be something else going on there, besides just the battery.

*if* that's official info, it's not going to be power based, but reasonable range expectation based.

If you put a bigger(heavier) battery in, that extra weight subtracts from the payload. No different than adding heavier running boards.

plus the energy isn’t necessarily clean energy.
why so many don’t understand that their electric car is burning fossil fuels to move is insane. Just because your car doesn’t have a tail pipe attached to the frame does not mean it isn't polluting. Your ev tail pipe is attached to the electric grid and base load energy is full of fossil fuel.

Right, but that is the opposite of what's going on here. Ford is putting the *lower* tow rating on the *lighter* battery.
