F150 Lightning

Form follows function in the case of the F-150 and other pickups. They have the shape they have because it works in the real world.
The Cybertruck is designed to attract attention, much like the gullwing doors of the Model X. It’s a look-at-me vehicle.
If you want a Tesla then get a Tesla. Nothing wrong with that but the CT isn’t a practical pickup truck for pickup truck duties.

also the CT design is conducive to far less drag, vs the brick design of the Lightning/conventional pickup. This matters and likely contributes to the better range.
all of this is on paper until real world use can validate.
But on paper, I don’t see how the argument can be made that the CT doesn’t do truck stuff better. In some cases vastly better. Double the payload for example.

k but…. It hauls more, tows more, at a greater distance, with a longer bed. So pickup truck duties. Just being honest here. Not picking a fight.

I actually think suburbanites are the best people for EVs - at least one in a two-car family. If an EV has range (even in cold weather) of 170miles and most people commute less than 70 miles round trip to work then the SFH w/ Garage suburbanite is actually the best person for a commuter EV. Thoughts?

Anybody doing long-haul, cross country, etc is probably not the right buyer for an EV F-150, but for municipal buyers, contractors who work in a 40 mile radius, and Harry Homeowners like me who use a truck for weekend home depot runs and take a Car/SUV for roadtrips, it's perfect.
I really don't understand everyone's sarcasm and vitriol on this thread.

So make sure you’re comparing apples to apples and enjoy whatever you decide.

Just spent 26 hrs without power due to storm, couldn't go to work because I had no power to recharge our Focus Electric....electric vehicles are all fine and dandy until you have no electricity or need to hang out 2-6hrs at a recharging station. Plus I've been waiting exactly 6 full months today for a 2021 F150 Lariat with no Vin or build date so heck no I'm not going anywhere near ordering another F150.

most city folk don't drive trucks because they are too hard to navigate in the city.
Sooo True.
Picture a 2011 F 350 King ranch leveled with an 8 ft bed camper shell going down the most windy road is America Lombard St SanFrancisco
