F150 Lightning
#1291
I just made a reservation for poops and grins. I expect to shop for a new F150 as a 2022 or 2023 MY, and couldn't tell you what powertrain I'll end up with. Powerboost is in the lead but there are a few possibilities. Lightning is an outside shot, but, maybe
Reservations are up to 111491** which reads as 149,100 range by my deduction

We LOVE our Ford focus all electric. Yeh i only gets 100 miles on a charge but in 3 years we have never come close to running out of juice, (you just stop looking at the ev gauge) we have never missed going to the gas station, we have saved thousands in gas doing all the errands around town and its Quick! zero maintenance,,, We like it so much I just bought a well used F150, Ford must be doing something right. I think the Lightning will be a great addition for us.
Ps we live in PNW cheap hydro power, makes it worth the wait

We are definitely excited for the Lightning, between what Ford has learned from the Mach E and just general improvements from a more modern EV that Ford actually has a lot of vested interest in.

You get it, The Focus was so under rated we feel like we are "cheating" when we drive it. One thing vulnox, you will want GOOD snow tires if you get snow there- So much torque even in "L" you gotta have snows.
Cheers

We got rid of my wife's Escape about a year ago since we had both been working from home and her basically new Escape Titanium with 5k miles on it just sat in the garage for months. Anyway, she is going back into the office now a couple days a week, and we found her a 2017 Focus Electric that was Certified, and I added an ESP for $600 bringing us out to 8 years/75k miles bumper to bumper, just in case. Got a great price and so far that Focus Electric is outstanding. She only uses about 25% battery for her round trip drive to work, so even in winter should be more than enough, especially being in the garage and preconditioning the vehicle before she leaves. Probably won't even go on a road trip, even though it does support DC Fast Charging, which was a surprise, but that's what our F-150 is for anyway. For driving around town it has been outstanding, and quite a surprise for what is basically a California compliance vehicle.
We are definitely excited for the Lightning, between what Ford has learned from the Mach E and just general improvements from a more modern EV that Ford actually has a lot of vested interest in.

My exact intentions with the Lightning, when it becomes available.

LOL, we have worse snow in Ky. Read again, I didn't say MORE snow, I said WORSE snow. They get the roads all brined up, but don't have enough trucks to keep up with much beyond a light snow, so it ends up a snotty mess. Best time to drive is after rush hour, when they let most of the drivers off so they can be back in at 4am. The slush freezes, you've got traction again.
If Vulnox doesn't need them, LMK. We just sold our 2013 to my youngest, and although it gets through ok with FWD, he's not learned to feather the throttle after a year of driving it, and I'd like to not have to go out and unstuck his butt three or four times again this winter
Parents are Farmington.
