All rainbow and unicorns for around town. any distance or weight loads then it all goes into the crapper .. Mr Musk call this the limiting Factor..which is the density of power in the batteries , Solid state will help ,,,Graphene is the holey grail for now .. like solid state the issues are making it in mass without the high cost of industrial processing..https://futurism.com/graphene-batteries-gamechanger

What defines a "truck person"???

How big does one's ***** have to be?

Truck isn't out yet but everyone's an expert!

Going to yoga class and a latte? Yep, lightning!

Towing a boat to something rural about 100 miles away? Get a PB or Ecoboost.

Going camping with the family out of state? PB or Ecoboost.
Going hunting? PB or Ecoboost
Going fly-in fishing out of state or Canada? PB or Ecoboost.

^^^ You could do all these things with the NA3.3, the 5.0 or the lightening too!

If you don't actually need a Truck, get a Lightning. If you actually use a truck as a truck, get anything else besides a lightning.

Change my mind.

Nothing you guys say makes any sense...its like you're all so closed minded but challenge others to convince you otherwise!

Using a truck as a truck...lmfao!!

I look at trucks in the utilitarian term .. Can carry heavy loads { Bed or tow } go vast distances driving 1100 miles in say 15 hrs, can carry lots of stuff { Dogs to furniture } and be comfortable doing all the things listed. can do so in almost any weather conditions safely . quick refuel options restroom breaks , Electric falls short to date but not the future hopefully.. Cheeper faster more reliable plus faster charging is all in the future..

^^ everything you describe can be done with an EV truck...except drive 75mph non stop for 15 hours which would be a challenge more on the driver, not the truck.

You naysayers really are hilarious.

This EV truck can easily get me to my cottage, tow my boats, haul my gear and do everything my current truck does!

I find it quite intriguing knowing that my grandchildren will grow up with EVs being a commonplace item in their lives.

As for changing yours and the others minds...Ford isn't into spending that much money to try and convince you people that the world is round.

TFL had a show on towing ..which tows best
Based on our number crunching, the Lexus used 5.8 percent more energy/fuel to do our mountain towing test. The Tesla, however, sucked up 22 percent more energy to do the same route, plus it took ten times longer to refuel than the Lexus. We give props to the Tesla, though, for towing with confidence and no loss of power—the EV will do the job, just not for very far. For that reason, we’ll stick with gas-power right now when it comes to hauling trailers. To see how we arrived at our numbers click on the video below.
Maybe this will Help you understand

So it appears the battery upgrade on the Pro trim is $10K....pretty steep for +70 miles & some HP. Maybe includes some other stuff? Assume it would be a similar upcharge on the XLT, so now you're at $62K.

Still wondering where the $12K is spent between base Pro & base XLT....

your stuff does not weigh much or is far away..As far as for promotion you would be wrong.. most manufactures would love to produce EV . less cost ,,less parts, more profit .. The Issue is the battery for long haul or heavy loads. that will be overcome ,,The issues with the power grid and power generation are all issues.. Even the boats and aircraft may be battery powered one day..
