F150 Lightning

your stuff does not weigh much or is far away..As far as for promotion you would be wrong.. most manufactures would love to produce EV . less cost ,,less parts, more profit .. The Issue is the battery for long haul or heavy loads. that will be overcome ,,The issues with the power grid and power generation are all issues.. Even the boats and aircraft may be battery powered one day..
OH COME ON... the bloody power grid again!!!!! FML
I'll stumble back out of here...before Dougy jumps in complaining of his twin turbo V8 XL truck.

^^ everything you describe can be done with an EV truck...except drive 75mph non stop for 15 hours which would be a challenge more on the driver, not the truck.
You naysayers really are hilarious.
This EV truck can easily get me to my cottage, tow my boats, haul my gear and do everything my current truck does!
I find it quite intriguing knowing that my grandchildren will grow up with EVs being a commonplace item in their lives.
As for changing yours and the others minds...Ford isn't into spending that much money to try and convince you people that the world is round.

All you battery life people crack me up. Yeah now you can go 300 miles on a charge and it takes forever to recharge. In 10 or 20 years it'll be way better. Do you remember what cell phone were like around 2000? ****, fast charging has only been around for less than 10 years. More people need to think about how things evolve.

Seems that we are discussing everything about the Lightning except the most important thing for Commercial use people, and daily commute people.
You can go here and compare the Mach E mileage to an ICE Mustang, and the F-150 current mpg.
https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/bymake/Ford2021.shtml
Since the Mach E can get 100 mpg, and according to their forum people are getting that, here is the question.
What do you think the EPA MPG will be for the Lightning?
My guess is 65 MPG. What is your guess, if you dare. I'm going to save all the posts, LOL, in case someone feels the need to edit later.

Lithium technology needs to advance another 5 years and chargers need to charge in 5 minutes, not 45 minutes for it to become a long-distance hauler.
There is technology that is being hashed out right now that allows a 5-minute lithium charge. It's coming, but give it another 5-10 years before trucks become EV-worthy.

So because the EV truck isn't convenient for you, then Ford shouldn't build them?
STU If you think the grid is in good shape well thats just Delusional..the facts are not with you..https://www.offthegridnews.com/grid-...s-terrify-you/
Nobody said EVs aren't the future, but the lightning in its current form is not a truck for the masses. It's a large Tesla model 3. If you live in a city with a cottage 30 miles away, then sure, the lightning may be perfect for you. And like another poster said, I hope Ford sells a lot of lightnings and puts R&D back into the technology to advance it. One day a gasser will be a thing of the past - but for trucks, that's still far out.

You stated in a previous post..."Again, the lightning is a truck for non-truck people or city dwellers." no its not.
Or how about... "Going to Starbucks? Lightning is for you!
Kids to hockey practice? Throw those bags in the back and fire up the lightning!
Going to yoga class and a latte? Yep, lightning!"
Your comments show precisely how short sighted you are...kind of like that other thread you started stating a class action lawsuit should be started because your vehicle depreciated. WTF!!!
"If you don't actually need a Truck, get a Lightning. If you actually use a truck as a truck, get anything else besides a lightning."
Is there a thread where we can have an adult educated discussion about this new EV F150 truck?
I'd like to discuss things like AWD/4WD, winter driving, battery performance in cold wether, launching boats, how deep in water can we go, will water impact the motors... and so on.
Not a bunch of rhetoric spewed by a some folks who seem content at only bashing everything they see with uneducated responses.
