I’m glad there’s a society that exists to certify what’s “real” truck usage. I’d be so lost without Internet authorities telling me how to spend my money and live my life to meet their exacting and very valuable standards.

Default What about charging while towing?

I haven't read all 678 posts in here, but it dawned on me yesterday, as we ordered a Mustang Mach-E (put a deposit on the Lightning day after it was announced) that I've never seen, nor read of charging stations in public places equipped for vehicles with a trailer attached. Everyone I see is a parking space that you're supposed to pull into, not back into, and no place for a trailer. If someone is towing a travel trailer with a fancy WDH, how much effort and time do they want to take to unhook, charge, and then reconnect? And how do you keep non-towers out of the spaces designed for vehicles that tow?

For sure....was REALLY hoping the Powerboost would be PHEV.... PHEV seems like a better transitional step until battery tech extends range, especially for trucks.

I think the way Ford is now going about hybred is the most effected way , by putting the motor gen in series with the drive line,, A electric machine can have the motors at wheels and the suspension to go with it.. The powerboost is a great mid step until batteries can get much better in energy density / weight / charge times..

PHEV/HEV is the same basic architecture, it wouldn't have taken much additional content to make the PB PHEV. I would've been happy with 25-30 miles of EV only, had the PB gone PHEV.

I can only assume there just is no more room/capacity to the current F150 chassis to use PHEV (battery) efficiently, otherwise I'm sure Ford would have done it. It just makes a lot more sense, IMO.

I think...I think...how about imagine???

Imagine buying an EV without any battery?

Then buying the battery seperate? And belonging to a battery co-op whereby you could go cross country and stop in and have the battery swapped out in a few minutes to a fully charged one and away you go?

Similar to a bbq and propane tank?

Imagine having a spare battery at home?

Okay haters...have at 'er!

I agree,

It appears that Babcock and helb0y are on the Board of Directors.

Without their selfless civil service, I wouldn't know what I did or did not "need."

It is so much easier when other people make these important decisions for me.
