In case anyone is having a hard time identifying what a "real" truck owner looks like...they have at least 3 feet of swing!!!

A "real" truck owner...on his way to use his "truck" as a "truck" !!!!

Well it sure seems like it will be more than 300 if that is truly with 1000 pounds of payload. But 460? Thing is, we don't know if the preproduction software was accurate, or what speed/route it was using to calculate that range.

It's also odd that Ford didn't mention that during the reveal. 450+ miles of range would have gotten a lot more people a lot more excited but they decided to underrate it by 150+ miles? It's possible, but I find it a bit hard to believe...especially considering Ford's long tradition of overrating efficiency.
I watched that presentation twice, but subsequent days of reporting showed that Ford left out many goodie details, like the 1000# payload used to calculate range.

That process is called "Under promise and over deliver", and is used by many companies. If your company meets the earnings that they stated they would get, the stock goes nowhere. But if they beat their own predictions, the stock jumps. I've seen it, and made money off it.

It is a smart strategy. But the deciding factor will still be the EPA mileage ratings, and the parameters they will be using.

Let alone the fact the massive complaints from Mach E owners not getting near estimated range unless they drive like a great grandma taking 1 minute to get to 50 lol.
Not completely accurate. I've been monitoring the Mach E forum since October, and there are lots of posts like below. People are still enjoying the 5+- second performance, after all, it is a Mustang, but many exceed the advertised range, driving normally.

I'm pretty sure the GT 500 owners don't get the EPA mileage advertised.

Thursday at 9:51 AM I got my Select AWD on Tuesday and am really happy with it! Yesterday I needed to make a 150 mile round trip and I wanted to see what it could do. The weather was a perfect 65 degrees at home and 75 in Denver so no climate control needed. I threw it on cruise at 65mph and let it rip. The guessometer was predicting 203 miles.

I expected to beat the 211 mile range but I did NOT expect to blow it away like I did! I drove the 148.3 miles on exactly 50% of the battery. If it’s linear, that would equate to 296.6 miles —85 over EPA!

I have owned hybrids for 15+ years and am a decent hypermiler but all I did was put it in cruise and drive normally. I think I could get more out of it with some additional coaxing but honestly this is so good that it’s not worth it. Now I’m curious to see how weather and other factors impact things—I realize that they are certainly going to cause a hit.

Real World Range for STD battery

Standard range rwd in Phoenix. Mine's been exceeding EPA estimates so far. Currently indicating 216 miles to empty with 84% charge. That's roughly 257 miles at full with my recent driving patterns (mixed city and highway).

Another Mach-E Road Trip : 384 miles and 10,000 foot mountain passes

Last weekend, we took a 384 mile road trip in the mountains of Colorado. In addition to going over several 10,000 foot mountain passes. The efficiency varied throughout the day, but by the time we were done, we were exceeding the EPA range. We also tested out 4 different charging stations. If...

Says the guy from Los Angeles. We use them as serious trucks here in the Pacific Northwest.

Default I have no use for this

I bought a 2020 with a v8 for a reason.

1st. Power
I have a mowing business so there for I pull
a 16ft raider all of the county
2nd I pull a 26ft boat to a lake 60 miles away.
3rd I’m getting a camper to pull over between Texas and Florida and also Missouri.
4th. We take regular family trips a two year old.
5th. I work at a job 50 miles away. Therefore I drive at minimum a 100 miles a day. A lot of time 150 or 200. My employer issues not going to let me use there electricity to charge while I’m at work and im
not going to use half my much lunch hour to charge a in capable truck.

If I wanted a grocery getter I’d have bought a Prius. Can someone imagine making a 2yr old sit on the side of the road while we just wait for a battery to
recharge that I’m just going to have to do in another 200 miles when we could be additional 20- 30 miles down the road.

A truck with a 300 mile range is just plain silly for anyone that uses a truck as a truck. I need a truck that can preform when and where I want it to not at the mercy of a government charging station.

Preach it, brother. The California and NY kids want their lightning so they can take their entire family to yoga class, but for the rest of the country, it's just silly.

You're so right! If only we could take a time machine back to the Soviet Union, and live in a place where there was only one vehicle choice, and our “betters” in the politburo sold us what a “proper truck driver” was allowed to drive.

Damn these jerks at Ford giving us multiple options, and damn these nonconformists that don’t listen to their “betters” that have clearly achieved the status of Ninja Keyboard Warrior.

Onward Commrade! See you at yoga class! I’ll bring the double Frappuccino!

And the MANY fleets of trucks that are used as ONLY trucks, rather than the family station wagon. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, hvac, delivery companies are ALL looking at the possibility of EV's. Their trucks don't need 400+ mile ranges as they mostly work local. Someone has to deliver the yoga mats, provide electricity for the lights in the yoga class, and crank up the heat for the hot yoga sessions.

If you're going to rant, skip the misspellings and missing words, it kills the credibility of the rant...

therefore
with a 2 year old
a minimum of a 100 miles
is not going to let me use their electricity
- what's a much lunch hour?
incapable
perform

Making fun of the yoga crowd!! I bet you guys watch a lot of sports...football? A large portion of football players do yoga...it helps prevent sports injuries.

Why does it bother some of you so much that there are people out here that are interested in a full EV truck?

A truck with a sub 2000lb payload is just plain silly for anyone that uses a truck as a truck. Ford should stop selling F150s entirely to you pansies with such low payload requirements. F350 should be the bare minimum, and the rest you get a car. /s
