They are trying to remove our hydroelectric dams here in the PNW because they aren't "Green Enough" or they interfere with tribal fishing. Forget the fact this is first-class renewable energy. I am a fan of all three methods.

My point was to all the folks in love with EV...where does your power come from to charge your vehicle? It's being generated by our current power grid.

If EV is the future then charge them with energy from solar power. Make it a stand-alone technology. It reminds me of kids who think beef comes from the store. Electricity magically appears to charge my vehicle from this small obelisk in random locations. Sorry if I communicated poorly.

As stated, most vehicles are charged, at home, when the power grid has ample excess power.

See my response #737. While 107 hours seems a bit much, the reality is that the F-150 Lightning will charge at around 3 miles per charging hour at 120 volts. 400 mile range / 3 = ... It's not linear, it charges faster between 15/20% and 80%. https://www.motortrend.com/news/2022...2010%20minutes. Using the wall plug isn't a good strategy.

Unfortunately, you can't take the time it tales for the 240 volt outlet and double it. That gives you 13 miles per charging hour vs. the 3. So when it says 19 hours, you need to multiply that by 4.38. That's 83 hours, or 3.5 days. I said 3-4 days.

I think the correct number is somewhere in the middle. Your numbers are for a smaller battery and only 60% charge. Even Ford says 19 hours just for an 85% charge on 240V 32A

I believe he was responding to the person asking about charging on 120V. Ford's literature says I think 3 miles of range per hour using their 120V charger.

The 120V charger runs at 12A. 1.44kw. That's less than 20% of the 240V/32A rate so 100hrs is not out of line.
