Oil Change from Factory Oil

The "preventative basic maintenance" as listed by Ford is to follow the IOLM.
"certain parameters seem to drop off" is tech speak for "oil is still doing its job and working just fine".
In all the testing discussions, where are the tests that show Blackstone saying "this oil is not acceptable and should have been changed long ago" when within the IOLM period, i.e. it hasn't yet said "change the oil"?
Of course "losing $5 changing my oil a little early" isn't a valid statement - because no oil change is $5. Changing oil too early is just a waste of money, pure and simple.
But, you should do what you want, just don't say people that follow the IOLM are doing anything wrong - they aren't.

In all the testing discussions, where are the tests that show Blackstone saying "this oil is not acceptable and should have been changed long ago" when within the IOLM period, i.e. it hasn't yet said "change the oil": I have seen plenty of blackstone reports from people on social media groups that recommended changing the oil at an earlier interval, those recommendations are usually followed by "Blackstone secretly works for the oil industry and gets a kickback." On that note, can you provide independent lab results of the oil at mile 0 (right after a change) and then again at mile XXXX (under 10k and with the IOLM still showing small percentage of life) so we can compare the two? I didnt say the IOLM wasnt accurate, just stated that its an educated guess based on variables...similar to that of a weather forecast.
"Of course "losing $5 changing my oil a little early" isn't a valid statement - because no oil change is $5. Changing oil too early is just a waste of money, pure and simple.: Changing your oil earlier wouldnt result in the cost of a complete oil change, you would only "waste" the cost of changing it early. If an oil change cost $50 and you change it 10% earlier then Ford tells you to, your loss is only associated with the 10%...
But, you should do what you want, just don't say people that follow the IOLM are doing anything wrong - they aren't.: I am doing what i want, I even stated when i change my oil and that was based on reading a lot of independent lab reports and i even stated that it contradicts with Fords "recommendation." I also dont follow Fords recommendation for exterior cleaner, engine cleaner, replacement filters, certain lubricant's, their tire choice, the way they tune their engines and transmissions, and a lot of other items. I even concluded with "My own opinion..." as to not imply that I was quoting Ford. I also didnt say what others do is wrong, but if i did have that opinion, id be free to express it despite being told not to.
In conclusion, lol, Ive owned 6 F150s, 4 of which had the IOLM. My IOLM normally has me changing the oil at 7500-8000, I change it at 5,000 which is around 33% sooner. My last oil change was $34, assuming that i change it 33 percent sooner, thats an added cost of $11 per oil change so roughly $33 more per year that i spend then someone else...not using the recommended exterior cleaner saves me over $40 a year compared to the soap i use. The oil I use is $8 cheaper a gallon with coupon ($24 a year savings), and the oil filter is $3 cheaper then the Ford recommended filter. Of course thats cost saving assuming that you are following ALL fords recommendations and not just picking and choosing right...someone wouldnt follow one recommendation but ignore the others for their own personal reasons right? (thats sarcasm, lots of guys pick and choose the recommendations they want while ignoring the ones they dont like such as exterior soap or Motorcraft Windshield fluid, never seen anyone pick motorcraft soap over a readily available brand)
To be clear, everyone is free to do what they want for whatever reason they want

These threads are like the speakerheads who buy 300.00 carbon fiber coasters to keep their wiring off the floor so that the electrons won't leak out.

I change my oil anywhere between 5000 and 7500 because that is what I like to do. The last change I did at the 7500 mi interval because that's when I had time! Manufacturer recommendation is just that, a recommendation. Who cares about the detailed science of it all. They're not the one driving your miles on your vehicle. Oil breaks down the instant it heats up. When you choose to change your oil is just that, your choice. You want to gamble and pinch pennies in the grander scheme of owning your vehicle, that's your choice.

I did my first oil change at about 2k miles, necessary? Probably not, just wanted to get the wear metals out. Have done ~5k ever since and am at 29k miles now on my '21 5.0. I was running mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 as I've always considered that a great oil but was not impressed with the oil analysis results after 5k miles on a sample, had already lost a pretty good amount of dynamic viscosity from new. Have been running pennzoil ultra platinum since and am going to send a sample of that off to compare. I use motorcraft filters, I also have a catch can for ****s and giggles which is also not really necessary on a 5.0. Usually is about halfway full of oil when I change it.

Good insurance, cheaper than a new engine, back in the 60's, i changed it every 1000 miles and grease the suspension. I also helped that my parents owned a garage too! lol (and car dealership)

I wound up changing mine at 4k miles due to travel, but I would've preferred 1000-2000 for the first oil change. I got the transmission fluid changed at 20k, rear diff fluid changed at about 18k with a diff cover replacement, and need to do front diff fluid at about 34-40k as I have a new diff in there. T-case is on the list.
My only argument is that the first change gets a lot of the wear-in shrapnel out of the system, which will be present no matter how good the machining tolerances are. I will stress that if you're gonna trade the truck in 3 years/40k miles then this is completely useless to you. I want to keep this truck until there's a new generation of technology to upgrade to, so my goal is 250k miles (at 29.5k after 30 months).

That is way too damn long. No person who cares for their vehicle should go over 3500mile/3mo oil change intervals and that is with NORMAL usage and on regular pump gas. If you run E85 it would be even less. My OPINION. My truck just turned 3000 miles and it has had 2 oil changes already within a 6 month period. Going 6-7-8,000 miles on the same ****ty oil is craziness. I wouldn't do that with my lawnmower.
