Default Storage area behind crew seats

Does anyone know or recommend how to access the are behind the crew seats? The seat bottoms fold up but I'd like to access the are behind the seat back. I've seen advertisements on Facebook about a kit that can be installed that has a latch for getting the seatback to come forward and allow access to that area. Has anyone modified their back crew seats to access that area? If yes, do you recommend a kit or company that will do the modification? I have a 2021 F-150 Crew Cab and also a 2018 F-150 Crew Cab.
Thanks for any assistance and advice.

I've seen the kit and contemplated spending $36. Not sure how much space is back there though, and I already have the underseat storage box to throw stuff in anyway.

Look up videos on Youtube. Plenty of videos showing how to access the area back there.

To get the seat down, lift the seat bottom up. This gets some clearance to reach behind it from above and hook the pin that has the ring on it in top pic. I used a 1/2 box end wrench. Pull up on that little pin to unlatch. As you can see I put a string on mine and secured it to top back of seat. Make sure that when you put the seat back into place the seat bottom is in the same position as when you unlatch it or it will miss the sliding pin it latches to. I included 2nd pic to show that if you have the B&O system it's already kind of busy back there, I have a different sub but it's about the same size as original. Jim

https://builtrightind.com/products/b...at-release-kit

This is the one that I got for my truck.

If you have the B&O stereo, there is not a lot of room left back there with the amp in there. Previous trucks I used the space to stow some long tools that I did not want rolling around in the truck and jumper cables.

Me, too. And I agree about not much space. Could be for a few tools or better yet something soft. And while the space is not absolutely secret, it is not obvious or easy to get to.

Not sure on screw, but on scab without any extra audio equipment, there is room enough for jumper cables and a first aid kit.

I used the built right kit. On the scab it’s tighter to get the latch unlocked for the first time and on a brand new truck the little tab had already come off the latch.

I initially needed to access the area to move the headrests to clean the back window, which for some reason was filthy from the factory and the dealers cleaners obviously had no clue how to clean it.

Builtright Industries was the way to go for me. Simple to install, hardest part was getting the seat back down to install it, but there are videos and other threads to show that. And some members made their own similar device, from cable or para cord, but this was easy and worth the ~$25. As others have said, if you have some of the advanced sound systems, there isn't much room, but i have room for the first aid kit, jumper cables, tow strap and some other items.

If you know someone with a 3d printer just have them print this:

I did mine in PETG Carbon Fiber black and it looks like a factory piece. PLA would not be a good material for this due to low heat tolerance.
