Most snowplow manufacturers make a lighter plow for regular half ton pickups. I'm shocked to hear everyone say there are multiple reasons for why the new F150's can't handle one.

Yeah. Wow. Great.

I went to their site , enthusiastically , and put the model into their system to find the recommended plow , and this is what was stated for the F150 with Ecoboost motor :

Due to the uncertainty of air restriction to the intercooler of the EcoBoost engine, we have discontinued the application.

That was the google link for the Snoway 26 , I'm referring to. Looked good until I used the "find the plow for my vehicle" search , that Snoway had on their site. Pfffft. Poop.

In addition to that I had this in another post:
Found this note to service departments for the new 2011:

2011 F-150 Snow Plow Upfit Restriction
Models Affected: All 2011 F-150 vehicles.
Issue:
Snow Plow Prep Package is no longer an available option on F-150 starting with 2011 model
year (refer to SSM# 069-2010-2026). F-150 vehicles with 5.0L and 3.7L engines have Electric
Power Assisted Steering (EPAS). EPAS places high transient load on the electric power system
which was designed and sized to handle this requirement. Charging system performance may
be affected if snow plow equipment is installed on a vehicle with EPAS, resulting in temporary
function loss of some electrical features. F-150 vehicles with 6.2L engine are only available in
Crew Cab body configuration. Previous model year F-150 Snow Plow Prep Package required
Heavy Duty Payload package and associated content, and is restricted from Crew Cab.
If you have any questions, please contact the Ford Truck Body Builders Advisory Service as
shown in the header of this bulletin.

Default 2012 f150 with ecoboost

I just purchased a sno way 26r for my F150 I haven't plowed with it yet but it drives great with it and it was a clean install it doesn't make the truck run hot nor interfere with my electronics the only thing is my outside temp gauge won't work unless I tilt the plow to the left while traveling . another way is the only plow recommend by ford's according to the snow way dealer also when looking drop my plow my truck headlights will come on also and I have 150 ft lbs of down pressure to take the weight of the truck while plowing .

If you don't have your vehicle tuned, our towing tunes would work great for plowing snow!! Feel free to drop us a PM or give us a call and lets get you set up!

What exactly do you mean by "towing tunes" ?
As far as I know plowing with a ecoboost will blow it up. I plowed with my 2010 and then 2011 the electronic power steering thing was added and no more plowing for the F150. Then in 2015 Ford teamed up with Boss snow plows and built a F150 and Boss a plow that would work again. The 5.0L and the snowplow prep package option is what I got. And it does work great. But again not offered in the Eco Boost because of issues it would have.
