Learn about the different types of fire extinguishers as well as how to use them.

I have a small ABC in my truck, but not our sedan. Most car fires get going pretty fast and your best tactic is to get away from it.

We have a large one hanging in the laundry room right off the kitchen.

Never seen so many vehicle fires till I moved to this State. Look for charred spots on the side of the freeways...you'll be amazed!!

Agreed. Had one go off in my work truck tool box and couldn't imagine what would happen if I had to use it on my truck. Here's the replacement

That type and size of extinguisher isnt going to do much for a grass fire. There isnt enough product in it and its the wrong product for the job. That would put out a very small fire in its beginning stage. If you want a better shot of putting out a small grass fire you will need one of these and some sort of hand tool:

I'm not interested in putting out grass fires, just fires on my truck quickly without damaging anything. It's still a abc. I've put out grass fires with a shovel and my feat before, not going to waste a exspensive fire extinguisher on one lol.

You should specify in your op then. I read it as you wanted to suppress grass fires. Unless you hit the fire small you're not going to do a thing.

In my fire extinguisher training, a short burst of halon put out a 5 gallon gasoline fire dead in its tracks.
I keep on in the plane cockpit due to its efficiency, and the dry powder clings to the inside of all the Plexiglas windows and windshield making a successful landing difficult.
This is the way to go. However i would get Halotron instead of Halon(3-4 times the cost) A small ammount of halotron goes a long way. I have a 1.1lb Halotron in my truck and wifes car. If you cant put a fire out with a 1lb of Halotron then its time to run and watch it burn.

What original post, I just posted in here how I posted my h3r fire extinguisher and your hating lol. I can put a decent size fire out with that and it's much better then nothing. Plus the chemical in this one won't damage anything. The key is getting to it when it starts, I am not looking to be a fire fighter 🚒🚒
