I should have gone slower with my circular saw, I chipped the plastic at the bottom there. Might still cut again and try to make the line more flush with the dash trim where the dotted line is

Here's a picture of how well it fits up on the floor. Literally a perfect fit.

looks really good. I got one on the way!

Lucked out and found a local steel supplier that would cut a 59.5" x 9" piece of 14 ga. steel for me. All the other only sold 4'x8' sheets (except for lowes, etc little 24x48 pre cuts). Couldn't wait to get rid of the pole & plastic tailgate cover...

Ground the corners, rounded the edges, painted with rattle can bedliner, and bought SS self tapping screws...

Damn. Every time someone sees my step and pole they get really jealous that they don't have one. But I guess the step is definitely the more valuable of the two.

I think they are both useful. I use the pole to hold my dogs; just slip the round handle from the leash over and good to go.

hopefully when stopped somewhere to keep them from going somewhere. Putting dogs in the back isn't the best idea...if something happened and you brake or swerved, Fido is unfortunately got a very high likelihood of either being hung / drug along the ground next to the vehicle/launched out and seriously hurt.

while it seems the bed is a great idea and perfect for dogs, driving with them back there could cause you more pain than I care to get into. Happened to a friend of mine...he was a mess after.

I'd LOVE to have the pole and step! I especially like the 15+ design.
