New meaning... new upper and lower control arms, new inner and out tie rods, new shocks...trying to diagnose the clunk
i inspected all the parts and they all needed to be changed so I changed everything anyway.
it was happening before I did all that work and thought it was a bad strut mount... but the clunk is still there... motor mounts were changed 30k miles ago...so I have to rule that out..
i lubed up steering shaft Joints and I’m pretty sure that when the lower shaft goes bad it binds up more than clunk...?? But I don’t know for sure...
it sounds like it’s underneath the seat so I’m leaning towards the rear... leaf spring shackles and bushings all look good... can’t figure out when the isolater pad is for the rear leaf springs...
the pic of the part on rock auto looks weird and I can find it anywhere back there...
i attached a pic of the isolater pad on the rock auto website...
anyone know where it is?
at least to keep inspecting...
thanks everybody for help... I’m determined to figure it out but am totally stalled
I’m sorry I did forget, sway links and sway bar bushings are brand new too.
it only happens 3/4 through the right hand turn cycle... feels like something might shift over
i don’t have anybody to help me move the steering wheel for me . I’m thinking of just turning steering shaft from under neath the truck and hope I hear it... maybe jack up right side a little to simulate weight transfer during s right turn ..,

I don’t think so... I really can’t check cause it only happens when it’s moving slowly when steering wheel is turned almost to max to the right...
should I paint the bolts and nuts to see if they shift? I put my “chassis ear” tool on the sway bar links (and a ton of other places) and heard nothing thru the headphones but felt it in the steering...
i figured the Lca bolts and nuts are close enough I would’ve heard something?
Well guys, madmaxx was right on point!!
drivers side lower control arm adjuster bolt was not torqued down properly causing a slight shift and clunking sound...
i sprayed the bolt heads and nuts with some primer paint and wouldn’t u know it... bolt head shifted and clunked...
torqued it down and it’s gone...
cant thank u enough mad maxx!!
hopefully this will help anyone going through the same issue...
